As thanksgiving guests, I can't say we were welcomed as hoped by the hostess. Even though we were on time and happy to be there she informed us our table was not ready and to wait at the bar. When i mentioned the bar was full she looked at me like I was a dumb jerk and repeated herself. We shuffled over to the bar umwelcomed to be received and saddened by her rude unhospitable service. The bartender and waiter were def better the food was good but over salted a few parts...
It has been five years since I ate at mMaialino on an anniversary trip to NYC with my then partner. This place has lived rent free in my mind ever since. Back then, this stretched my budget, and it was a treat to go out and eat at a restaurant like this. It was a great excuse to get dressed up, and live the good life. The pork butt was perfectly cooked, and I think about how the fat on the outside feels and turned into a rind often. I'm hungry now thinking about it. The service...
Cornelius was an incredible server with a ton of knowledge and so hospitable. I was shocked to learn it was his first day live! The food was outstanding as always. I loved seeing classics like the fegato and fresh dishes like the corn and sundried tomato ravioli. I look forward to returning one day!
