Maison Harlem is a gem of a bistro in Harlem. The food is great, the menu diverse, the staff is warm and helpful., the setting is very comfortable. Frankly, the only issue that I had on this night (not nearly every time I've been there) is kind of an ironic one. I was meeting a very close friend who is an internationally known jazz musician/bandleader to share dinner and catch up. We were seated in the back. There was a live jazz trio (and they were nice!) playing mid-restaurant....
Took my husband to Maison Harlem for his 85th birthday! I've been there many times before but this was the first time for my husband. It was fabulous- from walking into the very energetic bar scene with such warm welcomes from complete strangers- to our table which amazingly was pretty protected from the bar noise. I've been coming to Maison Harlem for many years, and always enjoy my time dining there! I hadn't been for a while so was really happy to return and find that the food was delicious and our waiter was lovely.
