They haven't reopened but I've been patiently hoping and praying that you guys return to nyc once again. The streets aren't the same without little Maison kayser bags sprinkled throughout the streets. I missed the froth of your coffee hitting my lips, the buttery croissants. I can't wait to taste your desserts again, maybe I'll even swing by tomorrow for the opening. I'm just glad you're back, don't know who I would have been without you.

If you are in NYC and you would like to have a really nice breakfast with a delicious Cappuccino, you must go to Maison Kayser.

We enjoy hanging out. Yesterday we visited this excellent restaurant which friends recommended to us. We spent a delightful experience there with exceptional meal and an efficient team and a distinguished cook. We added this fine restaurant in our phone list and we shall certainly return very soon. Highly recommended.

We had been at this restaurant before and liked. Our second visit was a different story. Two people in our party ordered croissants, and they took FOREVER to get to our table. We twice asked a waiter and once asked the manager to check on our order, and were told, "It's coming." When they did get there, one was flat and looked like it had been sitting around for a week. We should have sent it back but just decided not to make a fuss. I actually wrote the manager an email describing what happened but never got a response. It's too bad, because it's a neat place and some of the dishes are good and inventive. I probably won't go back.

Delicious bread, really good salmon salad. Have had breakfast and lunch at different visits and both were really good.

A fan of Maison Kayser in Paris, decided to get brunch here with a friend. Completely disappointing food - the Croque Madame, a dish that most French restaurants would be judged by, was greasy like crazy and the flavour a let down. Service was dismal too with close to no attention and everything needing prompting and reminders. Would advise that anyone coming here stick with the bakery only, and not get any food for dine-in.

I came here for a quick breakfast before climbing the vessel. Maison is an excellent bakery but they are pricey. I had a pistachio financier which actually tastes like pistachio and is not too sugary. I also got the hot chocolate and a coconut overnight oats. I thought the oats were very small and hot chocolate was just ok. I would have gotten a cappuccino instead the next time.

I had a great experience with the food myself. However, my friend has a severe nut allergy and specifically asked if there were nuts in one of the cookies, they told her no so she ate it. That day we spent 7 hours in the emergency room. I think it is ridiculous that the workers were unaware of the ingredients in the baked goods, especially an ingredient that can cause so many problems.

Cute and quaint! Very nice dining experience. The quiche was fresh and delicious. Matcha latte was perfect! Tons of pastries and desserts to try as well. I enjoyed this place. Wish they had one in Florida I'd definitely go there all the time if they did.

Absolutely horrible experience... much to my dismay. I am a huge fan of Maison Kayser, having been to multiple locations in the city throughout the years for breakfast, lunch and just dessert. I am keen to introduce the chain to my friends. But after this experience I will tell them to stay away from the Bryant park location. I hate to do this. Stopped by with some visiting friends for coffee and dessert at around 6 PM on Monday Feb 24. From the start the staff were quite abrupt and bitter. We ordered tarts and not only did the waiter not swap out our large forks for small spoons, he grimaced once I politely asked if he “might be able to give us spoons.” After some time we were brought the bill, despite not having asked for it. My friends were taken aback (this would certainly not happen in the Mediterranean). Nevertheless, we put the exact amount of money on the bill and the waiter came and grabbed it. To our shock and disgust he ran back later, SLAMMED it on the table, and said (rather angrily) the tip is not included. Now I’m not a confrontational or aggressive person, but I felt highly insulted and embarrassed in front of my friends. We were planning on leaving him 6 singles (20%) on the table as we left, and they in fact were about to put down that amount (they’ve been here a few days and know how tipping works) when I told them to leave only $3. I went to speak to him while heading out. I basically said “I’d like to tell you something both to help you and because I was bothered by your behavior. My family is in the restaurant business here in the city (I didn’t tell him this but my dad has owned and managed a big successful restaurant for 35 years). Most places would not tolerate an employee demanding a tip from customers, especially like this. I always tip people a fair amount and if you had only been patient you would’ve seen us leave you a tip on the table (we had meant to give him 20% despite his bad service). Instead you were very rude.” His response was something along the lines of “this place gets a lot of French people—“ and I cut him off to say “yes I know many tourists do not know to tip, but you still wouldn’t ask in this manner. And do I look French to you? My friends may be tourists but I’m the one who ordered. I clearly have an American accent, a New York one too.” He kept on trying to convince me, I don’t even know what he was muttering and I said “when people pay a bill, they don’t always include the tip immediately and you shouldn’t expect that they do/think they won’t. I for one always leave it on the table (I didn’t explain my reasoning but it’s because I want the employee to pick it up his/her/their self while cleaning the table. Even when I pay card I try to leave the tip in cash). I added “It’s standard practice at lots of places in NY.” He couldn’t and didn’t respond, we’d had enough, so my friend sarcastically “thanked him for his good service” and I added “never coming back to this location.” So, many thanks Maison Kayser for perpetuating the stereotype that New Yorkers are grumpy and rude! I had to sit there and explain to my friends just how unacceptable and out of the ordinary this experience was. Great desserts... not worth the attitude though. Le Pain Quotidian all the way now...

Palce is good, but nothing special. Tried onion soup-it was good but very sweet. $13.50 per bowl wjich is good.

Wonderful inexpensive restaurant for a quick bite and great coffee. Great pastry too but passed. Fresh butternut squash soup really warmed us up on a bitterly cold day. First time there. Assuming same kind of great food is at all locations.

We had eaten Kayser pastry in Paris and were so excited when they opened in NYC. Our memory of the delicious pain au chocolate propelled us to stop in for breakfast. We were not disappointed. The pastry is flakey, buttery and tender with bittersweet chocolate hiding between its layers. The chocolate almond croissant is just as excellent but with a denser texture. The coffee was also delicious, and there was a steady stream of customers starting their day as we did. Worth another trip to NY-it’s closer than Paris!

Always a great place for fresh coffee, yummy salad, and space to work on my laptop. Love this place.
