One of the very few grown up, civilized rooms left in New York. Guillaume and Jacques run a remarkably smooth operation, and made our anniversary truly a night to savor and remember.

We were so happy we chose to eat here. The minute we walked in we were greeted by name and taken to our table. All of the staff was very attentive and extremely helpful with the menu and wine pairing for us. The food was amazing and the soufflé we had for dessert was outstanding. We will be coming back here in the future. Nothing to complain about here at all.

Excellent service and ambiance. Almost like being transported away from the hustle and hustle of NYC and to a quaint place in Paris. The restaurant only offers a prix fixe menu. It seemed in line with what one would spend on 2 or 3 courses at any fine dining restaurant in the city. But Majorelle is well worth the prices versus many other places in the city that are not. The food at Majorelle is impeccable. And lots of selection on the menu to choose from. Something for everyone. Show up early to have a pre-dinner drink in the bar. It was full when we got there so they seated us for a drink in the hotel lounge that's usually reserved just for hotel guests. A beautiful quaint comfy area with a roaring fire. We had kir royales. The wine by the glass, champagne, and cocktail menu is quite impressive. But what really stood out was the service. They make you feel special and many of the staff speak French. It was really like being transported to Paris for an evening! The grand marnier soufflé for dessert - not to be missed! Outstanding. The endive and blue cheese salad appetizer was beyond delicious. The rack of lamb was the best rack of lamb I've had as of yet at a restaurant in New York City. At most restaurants, it's bland and tasteless. But not at Majorelle. Seasoned well. Cooked to perfection - I asked for medium rare and it was perfect. Served with a lovely sauce they pour over for you. And also served with a small dish of potato gratin that was outstanding. I'm a great home cook and when I go out to eat, I expect to be blown away - to make it worth me eating out versus just cooking at home. I make an incredible rack of lamb at home so it's been rare for me to find a rack of lamb at a restaurant worth paying for. But Majorelle passed the test! A very quiet and secluded ambiance - ideal for a special occasion or just a quiet dinner amongst a couple of friends. I rate restaurants based on service, ambiance, and food. Majorelle is 5 stars across all!

Terrific execution of classically prepared French food with very professional service. Menu is great size with appropriate variety. Beautiful white table cloth space and amazing flowers everywhere! Always a great evening!

In thr Lowell hotel. Food is exquisite. Went for our anniversary. Oysters were excellent and the main course of lamb and steak wad complemented perfectly by the Bordeaux wine. Dessert was not too sweet...wonderful example of French pastry elegance. Atmosphere is epitome of upper East Side with marble everywhere.

Very New York, very upscale, lovely venue, fantastic service and the food was excellent. We booked a month in advance as we were flying in from Florida and wanted somewhere local to where we were staying. The staff were professional and friendly, and we ordered the lobster risotto and the filet mignon. Bravo Chef!!! The food and presentation could not have been better.

C'est parfait. Staff, cuisine, room, flowers, wine and crowd five stars. Magnifique. One of the few truly Michelin restaurants in New York, in our view. Tres elegant. Merci. A bientôt

Beautiful Restaurant, friendly and accommodating staff. We were especially looking forward to the food which disappointed tremendously. Flavorless Overcooked duck breast, salad was a disgrace for the price we paid for 2 people and I could go on... Compliments to Service but a huge misfire food wise. A fine dining restaurant it is not.

Avoid! If food is what you're looking for, NYC has far better actual fine dining that costs less than this poor excuse for cuisine.Bland food that felt like somebody thought "Well, they're already here, how little effort can we get away with and still charge full price?"The menu is transported from 1985. However, not to insult the '80s, the food still would have been just as boring back then.Scallops were cooked well, but generally forgettable. Turbot was simultaneously under and overseasoned (salted improperly, with almost no flavor in the accompanying puree). To the service team's credit, they replaced it with the lobster risotto when I gave feedback. While the risotto tasted fine, the meager portion of overcooked lobster looked like leftover scraps that weren't usable in a lobster roll.Souffle was good, and probably the "highlight" of the meal. Was it worth $35 though? No.Overall this place is all style with little substance underneath. Like a scratch off ticket promising riches, it is quickly revealed to be hollow and disappointing.I'm embarrassed for this to be anyone's experience of "New York fine dining", and left feeling more grifted than satisfied.

Unfortunately I was quite disappointed. For the price and number of stars, I expected top notch food with top notch service and was left very underwhelmed. My food was fine but my husband had to send his main dish back as his fish was very improperly seasoned and mushy. We were seated in the conservatory area which uses tables that seem like patio tables - there is a bar underneath that prevents people from crossing legs and taller people from sitting with their feet flat on the ground. Service was fine, but not overly friendly. We were celebrating a birthday (outlined in the reservation in both the occasion area and special notes), and while it was acknowledged at the end of the meal, I expected more for such a high price point. We definitely won't be going back.

A perfect place to enjoy a beautiful, well-served dinner and be able to hear your dinner companions. Guests are well-dressed and are self-contained. The room is bright and full of flower arrangements that deserve to be seen. Could not think of better place for a special meal. Always a pleasure.

Only one word to describe, perfect. From the decor to the flowers, to the most professional and gracious staff (many of whom are le grenouille alumni), to the food, Majorelle is just special. Expensive but worth every penny!
