I tried their meatballs with tomato sauce and the only thing that had any taste to it was the tomato sauce. The meatballs (2) were tasteless. I believe I also had their pasta with beans soup which was not impressive. Their decor is pleasant.

Do not order a steak here. I ordered it medium and it came out blue. When I sent it back, they just put my cut up steak back onto the grill and piled the pieces back on the plate, which were now dry and well done. By the time they offered to remake it, my wife was already done with her extremely mediocre food. With all the incredible restaurants in the area, don't bother coming here.

I went to Mamma Mia’s with a group of nine for a friend’s birthday. We were a few minutes late for our reservation and were told to wait at the bar, which we did for about 20 minutes before being seated.

Once seated, we placed our orders, and someone ordered bread for the table about 10 minutes later. We then waited roughly an hour for our food. When it finally arrived, some dishes were inconsistently heated—some parts were warm, while others were noticeably cool.

On top of that, the water had a strange, soapy/coppery taste. It was off-putting enough that I regret not suggesting we leave. The restaurant offered us shots as compensation, but even those were bad.

Overall, the experience was disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend this spot based on the wait times, food quality, and the off-tasting water.

I live in Hell's Kitchen and am disappointed it has taken me so long to stop into Mama Mia. It was a busy Saturday night, but there was one seat left at the bar. The bartender made a great negroni and allowed me to enjoy my book before ordering dinner. I had a terrific meal- Caesar salad and chicken, eggplant rollatini. The salad had a nice chill and flavor, and the sauce on the rollatini was delicious. The bartender was charming throughout. I am already looking forward to my next visit!

We had to leave when we still hadn't received food an HOUR after ordering! Not a single other table in the restaurant had received food yet either. The host was helpful and understanding about it though.

Superb Italian restaurant close to Times Square.
The cuisine is family-style and of very good quality.
Come with friends or family without hesitation

The person at the door didn’t even let us enter . It was raining and really cold. Another lady came and gave my sister’s stroller the side eye before telling us we couldn’t eat there. Very disappointing.

I was really disappointed with the delivery services. The food took long to arrive and when it did, it was cold. The containers were not properly sealed and the food spilled all over the bag, affecting 4 of the 5 containers, napkins and the bread. Very sloppy work.

Subpar food, inattentive service and too dark to see anything. The food was the biggest letdown. Soggy fried calamari, under fried zucchini, blend steak… only decent thing we tried was the penne alla vodka. The portions were small. With so many good option in the area I would stay clear of this one.

I thought with all the great reviews the place would be amazing but our food lacked flavor big time after we waited a long time for our food (there was barely anyone there). We had shrimp Alfredo and steak with mashed potatoes. Both lacked flavor, potatoes were dry and steak was full of fat. Bread was black and burned on parts. Maybe it was just an off time, not sure but we won’t be returning.

We made a reservation for 6. We got the restaurant they broke a us into a. Table of 4 and a table of 2. And no where near each other. We sat by the door where we we blasted with cold air when opened. I had my chair kicked constantly and was hit in the head with a plate and elbows. The table should not have been there as it was too tight a space. The service was super slow and we were late for our Broadway show. No one came to ask if we wanted a second drink whole we waited over 45 minutes for our food. We’ve been to NYC several times and never have we experienced this. Terrible.

Good food. Terrible service. Nothing like it used to be. Horrible. A lotta money for no waiter!
