Perfect dinner expereince, as always. Food, service, and ambience were all exceptional. We took our best friends there and they enjoyed their meals as much as we did. A wonderful evening.

The food and the service were amazing! Tiago was very helpful in telling us where to go while in NYC.

Dined in on a Saturday night before a broadway show. Sound was moderate due to live music, but the music was so nice. Food is to die for! Espresso & the Sicilian seduction martinis are 10/10

I've been eating at this place for at least the past 20 years (and there's a possibility I ate there when it was just a pizza joint long before that). Whether or not the watchful eye of the boss is around, the staff always make one feel welcome. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxed, and I've not known the space to get too loud. The food comes in generous portions and is hearty, nourishing and carefully prepared. Last night, I had to be in and out in 45 minutes, which was accommodated flawlessly. There are many places to eat in this area, but Mama Mia 44 SW remains one of my favorites.

Always a favorite for dinner, I was pleasantly surprised to see they offered a brunch pre-fixe. It was not only delicious, the service was great as usual and it was lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Looking for a decent Italian dish, I was greeted by friendly staff, and I was seated fast right along the street. Nice to watch and see the neighborhood, can't go wrong with some homemade meatballs and beer. Highly recommend this place!

I fell in love with this place on my first visit — the food was delicious, the ambiance charming, and the staff warm and welcoming. As someone new to NYC, it felt like a hidden gem. Unfortunately, my most recent experience left me disappointed.

This time, service was noticeably slower. I had to get up and request a menu, ask for a fork after my entrée arrived, and wait a long time for both bread and my drink. Despite being a solo diner, I was surprised to find a 20% automatic gratuity added to my bill. When I inquired, I was told it was intended for large foreign parties who may not tip — an explanation that, frankly, felt inappropriate and a bit dismissive.

As an American woman and a military veteran, I found it disheartening to be treated this way, especially considering I had tipped generously on my first visit. Mistakes happen, but there was no urgency to correct it, and no real acknowledgment of the subpar service.

I still believe this place has a lot to offer — the people are kind, the food is excellent, and the setting is lovely. But unfortunately, after this experience, I’m not sure I’ll be returning. And that’s truly a shame. I thought I had found my go-to spot for a delicious dinner.

Very disappointed. Only ordered the bruschetta and drinks and left. Was offered water (still or mineral) and didn’t realize we were going to be charged $12 for warm bottled water. Personally when I order bruschetta, I think of fresh chopped tomatoes that you can top on slices of bread. We received a small piece of garlic bread with some melted cheese a couple pieces of tomato. We ultimately decided not to order entrees and leave. Drinks were fine.

Very Friendly staff and wonderful atmosphere! Loved the food. Only thing is took 30 minutes to get chicken parm but I didn’t care because I loved the atmosphere and the staff. HIGHLY Recommend!
