Food is good, and I like how there aren't added sugar to their match latte. The low rating, however, is for the back and forth lack of the team's knowledge of the ingredients. I have allergies, which I specify everytime I make my order and have asked multiple times and one day the allergic item isn't included, but the next it is...I just ordered delivery from a different location which confirmed the allergy item is in fact included in the item in all locations. If this was an immediate life or death reaction, it wouldn't look good on them. Even if it's a mild reaction, it has a long term impact that could lead to stomach cancer so it is serious plus it can be hard to locate where the reaction is coming from im I'm supposedly staying within the non allergic items.
It's a quick breakfast spot for when at work with simpler ingredients. All I need is for them to gain knowledge of what is in their meals and clarify that with customers when asked.

Horrible experience. I asked for a wild salad without egg and they gave me another salad with cheese (I’m lactose intolerant) and they didn’t changed it even thought the mistake was on them because they didn’t understand the order. Horrible treatment. They made me feel very bad. This behavior shouldn’t be allowed. I will never go ever again

Lovely space…. Calm/peaceful, albeit loud, music. Service was fine.
I ordered the salmon salad and it was a massive amount of food, in a way that was unappetizing, tbh. It came with herby potatoes that were purple (lavender?) and there was a ton of them which made the dish not appealing visually. It was an odd experience to have this salad with a massive amount of purple potatoes in the center of it and hard to navigate anything else on the plate.
I should have taken a photo to show what I’m talking about. Recommend the kitchen staff serve a quarter of the amount of potatoes and place them on the side should someone not want them.

I was excited to try this Maman location as I usually frequent the Upper East Side location, but I will be sticking to the Upper East Side as the customer service here leaves more to be desired. The store itself is beautiful, but beauty doesn’t make up for the horrible customer service.

I walked for 20mins in a snow to get some late lunch here, picked this location out of all the restaurants nearby, and turns out they had a private event. I had to stand for a minute in a lobby to figure out where should I go instead. That's when the manager approached me in an extremely rude way, saying 'mam you have to leave now, you don't understand it's a private event and it says on google we're closed'. No apologies, no thank you for choosing us, nothing but an absolutely horrible attitude towards a loyal customer. And guess what google had 0 alerts they're closed. I'm sure non of this group of people booking an event there would mind me standing there for 1 minute. Such a nice day got ruined by just one worker who doesn't give an F about anyone but himself. Shame on you sir.

Used to be one of my favorite spots but recently went in to order the granola parfait. They normally ask me if I want it for here or to go, which this time they didn’t ask me so I assumed it was going to be for here since I frequented this spot quite often.

It came out in a little plastic container. I had 15 minutes to eat lunch so I apologized but asked if I could have it in a for here plate/bowl since I wanted to sit here. The person in the kitchen made a huge fuss and said it wasn’t gonna be done pretty since they were just going to dump it out of the to go container into a bowl. I didn’t really understand because I never asked for it to go.

It came out not the same as normal. I apologized again and just said I took a photo the last time I went here and it looks a much smaller portion and messy. Not sure why I’m paying the same amount for less quality and quantity.

For reference, the first photo is what I received from the to go container and the second is what I’ve previously been served when I get the same parfait to stay.

The main barista and cashier who has always been nice and kind said there was no difference between the photos and they couldn’t give a refund because the food was already served.

I’m assuming the manager came in and handled the situation. He apologized and refunded the order.

I work in a restaurant and I would have never 1) served a customer something blatantly different in portion or quality and 2) respond to a customer sending back food in the way the kitchen and barista did.

I didn’t want to be annoying but it’s not fair to charge customers the same amount for different quantities.

With these kind of crazy prices, you’d expect everything to be organic… good to know the rich are paying more to be poisoned with GMOs!

The hype is def NOT there. Every time I go there, the beverages are never hot, despite ordering and requesting it to be hot. The pastries are either old or not prepared correctly because most of the time they are super hard. The service is terrible. I think less chatting about nonsense and more customer service. I’ve had it and am never coming back nor would I recommend this place.

Very cute coffee shop. The decor in the venue is really cool with plants that cover the ceiling, it’s a beauty!

Price point on the higher end (expected). Coffee is good and pastry options are vast, with vegan and gluten free options.

Can’t give a 5 star as the place was not super clean, maybe we were unlucky when there.

The food is great, but there's a lot missing from the menu. Rushed and impatient service.

I have loved coming to this maman location over the years for pastries and coffee and wanted to take my family while they were visiting from out of town. Unfortunately, the barista working the morning of 9/29/24 made us feel very unwelcome.

First, my sister feels that they had a negative attitude after she was unfamiliar with the flavors they have available. Secondly, I have only gotten to go before, so I didn't know that tables were reserved for only those dining for breakfast. They told us this before we ordered, and we accepted this policy (though all but two of the tables were empty). However, as we were sitting at the benches near the door/bar enjoying the coffee, they made us feel awkward and continued to ask if we were waiting for a table though we had clarified we just wanted dine-in coffee. We sat at the benches near the front because it was pouring rain, and we wanted to sit inside before going back into the weather. Eventually, we left due to feeling unwelcome and rushed.

I hope this was all a misunderstanding. However, I have never received such poor service. I will not be returning to maman or recommending it to anyone that I know. This is the only review I have ever left on Google because of how bizarre our service was.
