I always order Indian food here. My cousin just arrived from California and especially wanted to order from Manhattan Valley. Its consistently good. Their Kabuli Nan is fantastic too!

Manhattan Valley is an absolute gem for Indian cuisine right in the heart of Manhattan. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels warm and welcoming, making it a perfect spot whether you’re dining casually or celebrating something special.

The food is the real star here. Every dish was bursting with authentic flavor, perfectly spiced, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. From the rich, creamy curries to the fresh naan and aromatic rice, everything tasted incredibly fresh and thoughtfully prepared. You can tell a lot of care goes into each plate.

The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and genuinely happy to help with recommendations. Despite being in the middle of NYC, the experience felt personal and unrushed, which is hard to find.

If you’re looking for top-tier Indian cuisine in Manhattan, Manhattan Valley is a must-visit. This place delivers on flavor, quality, and hospitality, and it’s definitely somewhere I’ll be returning to again and again.

Really good curries in the buffet. Decent options too!

The food at this restaurant is delicious.
I ordered the Chicken Korma, and my wife chose the buffet — everything was very good.

The service was good overall, even if it could be a little warmer, but nothing major. The decor is quite average.

That said, we come here mainly to eat well, and that’s exactly what we did.

There are also vegetarian options available, which is a real plus.

I recommend this place and will most likely come back.

Been going to Manhattan Valley for about 20 years (since it was Indus Valley) minus a partial break for when the old management wasn't respecting the help. But that's long since over. The food has always been delicious. Food is always fresh, they have excellent vegetarian options (obviously), and the staff has always been kind and attentive. It's one of my favorite neighborhood Indian restaurants.

I first visited over ten years ago and fell in love with those three little sauces and papadam they give you upon arrival. The food is better here than any other Indian restaurant I’ve ever been to. Was so glad to go back when I was in town last week and find not much has changed- the food is still mind-blowingly delicious, the staff still impeccable and friendly. Can’t wait to visit again!

Was looking for Indian places to eat and had lamb biryani at this joint. They use halal meat. I wish the lunch hour deal could be extended till 4 pm. Went again for the lunch buffet and it’s a solid deal, highly recommend!

We had a great experience at Manhattan Valley. Excellent and attentive wait staff and a head waiter with a quick and amusing sense of humor. His hilarious quips added greatly to the friendly atmosphere of the place, and his recommendations on what to order were spot-on. Ours was a party of six. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted and shown to a large table in the rear of the restaurant which was completely set up and waiting for us. It was suggested that we might like to start with both hot and cold appetizer platters while we perused the large and varied menu before ordering the rest of our meal. The appetizer platters arrived quickly and just after our drink orders were filled. The two platters were varied and delicious. Our waiter was very helpful in choosing a variety of complimentary dishes for a family-style meal, including some special dishes not listed on the menu. All were delicious, although next time, I may ask for the spicyness level to be raised a notch or two. All in all, a very enjoyable evening spent with good friends. The food was delicious, especially the bhuna goat and the shrimp biryani, and the service friendly and attentive. I'm looking forward to returning!

The full seats visible through the window made me stop. This place maintains impressive standards consistently. The atmosphere is pleasant with friendly staff. The service team is amusing, warm, and observant. I'm thankful for the addition of this spot.
