I visited Marathon Coffee on a Saturday morning around 7:45 am and had a mixed experience. The coffee was good—rich and flavorful—but I was disappointed by the limited pastry options available. There were hardly any choices, and the barista didn’t offer any information about additional pastries being made or recommend anything.
The shop was empty during my visit, and the barista didn’t engage much in conversation, which made the experience feel a bit lackluster. On a positive note, the place was clean and well-maintained. Overall, while the coffee was enjoyable, I hope to see a better selection of pastries and more friendly engagement next time.

I've gone here ever since I moved to the area for over 1.5 years. My favorite espresso in the area and the latte flavors are great! Friendly and quick service every time I go

Got the honey nut latte and it had no flavor. Either they forgot to add the syrup or it just doesn’t have flavor.
We got a strawberry matcha and it tastes like strawberry nesquik and milk. The latte I got was milky with no strong espresso flavor.

I love this place so much. I love that it opens at 7am/not 730am on a Saturday, I love how clean it always is, I love the music they play and I love the beautifully designed interior. The coffee is strong and brewed w experience. This coffee is a love language!

I tried their drip (a.k.a. brewed) coffee, I thought that it was nothing special. The charge was $3.50 for a small, $3.65 for a large. I tried their Pumpkin Bread which was fresh, but had little taste. It was hard to identify it as having pumpkin flavor because its taste was so weak.

The coffee is great, but can you install a ramp for strollers and/or a button for the door to open automatically? You're missing out on a key demographic - parents with strollers in need of coffee. I don't think I will be returning with a stroller - it's just too much hassle. Luckily, there are other great coffee shops in the area that are accessible.
I wonder if the staff even taste the coffee because it’s so bad. I threw it all away after the second sip.

lumpy matcha latte 😭, I usually go to BIRCH for matcha but they were closed so decided to give marathon coffee a try. Never again, the matcha was super lumpy-I even tried fixing it at home but it was unsalvageable. Got one of their chocolate chip cookies which is all the rave and it was dense without tasting like much
Really great coffee

I just moved to NYC. I’ve been to a lot of different coffee shops trying out my new favorite, oat milk latte, and this is by far the best in the city and I’m blessed to live super close! I accidentally spilled a freshly made oat milk latte, of course offered to pay for another and clean up my mess! But the barista wouldn’t have it, he was so kind, made me a new one without even asking for me to pay and cleaned up my mess ❤️
Not only is this the best coffee in the city but genuine kind hearted people work here ❤️
Thank you so much for being great!
