Fantastic experience! The service was wonderful. We ordered the porterhouse streak for two and it was cooked to perfection.
We had a lovely dinner to celebrate my nephews birthday. Food and service was excellent. Highly recommend.
Mark Joseph's is a really good steakhouse in NYC. Great drinks, excellent food and service. Highly recommend if you find yourself in the Financial District but worth a cab ride or Uber, if not.
The cool, uncrowded, white linen ambiance, tranquil atmosphere, attentive service, robust menu, and quality food prep, was an oasis on a hot summer afternoon before an evening show at pier 17. The Seaport district offers a variety of food / dining options, but Mark Joseph's increases the odds of success when outside temps verge on hostile. Thx Mark Joseph!
I have to say i've been going to mark joseph.Steakhouse for twenty five years. And never once had anything. But the most amazing meal, with the most amazing service. Besides my love for the restaurant. It happens to be my mother's favorite restaurant to go, and she can't stop talking about how relaxed she was. Very enjoyable, great food.Great service and very convenient location Love from bradley to everybody there.
Relative to other steakhouses in the world, this ranks pretty low. It's not bad, but it's not good. The steak was decent but way too salty. Mushrooms were too salty. Tuna was overcooked a bit. The lobster bisque was good. I've been to a lot of steakhouses around the world and pretty much order the same stuff every time. This steakhouse ranks near the bottom.
The food and service were excellent. Our entrees were a T-bone steak, 12oz Filet, Salmon, and Chopped Salad with sliced steak. I had a French Onion Soup and it was very good. Other appetizers at the table were Clams Casino, Crab Cake, and Mussels. All of these were excellent as well. Cocktails were very healthy pours. For a high -end Steakhouse, the menu prices were quite reasonable.
Reliably the best Porterhouse in Manhattan, and everything else keeps to the same standard.
Once again a fabulous meal in Mark Joseph's. It's very hard to beat this restaurant for quality of food and standard of service. We were warmly welcomed, looked after very well at our table and the food was outstanding. For me it's a staple to come to each time we visit New York and if it's your first time visiting the big apple - you should try this hidden gem out. You won't regret it!
Only issues...received butter, but no bread at our table....and, requested champagne or sparkling wine to toast with and never received.

Great food and service. Everything came out great for a table of 8. No rush to get us out of there, which was really nice.
Can‘t agree on the positive recommendations / ratings: while service was highly motivated and very friendly, overall impression of the place is a bit of gone better times: chairs shaky, menues worn and decoration a bit uninspired. Our maincourse porterhouse was cooked to our order, but meat appeared firmer than usually and less flavorful. Sides were solid but also uninspired.
Cool spot with very well made steaks. Zero grey band on 6 steaks. Staff was fun and had solid recommendations on wine. No frills, simple, good quality. Would go again.

This was our favorite go-to spot for simple anniversary dinners, and I especially loved their dinner rolls. However, the quality of the food has gone down as of this year, and they no longer have the fresh baked dinner rolls. It makes me sad to see that one of my favorite spots change. The food was average for a steak house. It's good for the service and atmosphere if you like the ambiance for a romantic dinner.

A no-fuss steakhouse, get the Porterhouse medium-rare! And maybe a martini and a chopped wedge salad to start, and creamed spinach on the side with yoru steak. It's what you want. Their desserts are good but even better is to walk over to the Tin Building for some gelato -- you will want the walk, and the gelato clears the palate. MarkJoseph is, by far, my favorite steakhouse in New York City. Once you've eaten there you realize that the other places (a) don't make steak quite as well and (b) try to cover it up with hoopla. The steakhouse experience is to have a good steak, and MJ is the place.
