I was in Marseille today with my mother and sister for brunch not only was the atmosphere welcoming and amazing but our waiter Maruf was spectacular! He was there right away asking if we needed time or if we knew what we wanted to drink. He then came again to ask what we would like to eat and then came checking in on us periodically. His tone and vibe were sweet and completely attentive. Maruf was just flat-out wonderful all around. The food was also amazing in how flavorful it was to eat. We had salmon tartare, fava bean hummus, and escargots en persillade for beginners. Then we got the corque madame and frisse aux pardons(shares between my mother and me) respectively. It was my little sister's 16th birthday and they brought out our desserts while singing softly to her. The creme brulee was delightful. Everything at this restaurant was completely and utterly beautiful and I highly recommend people coming here to eat!

Charming and welcoming atmosphere, good cuisine - except for the overly dry salmon - the staff is very courteous, and I recommend coming in the evening when the atmosphere is more joyful.

I live in Philadelphia, near Parc - which has a similar vibe to Marseilles. I am a Parc regular, so I was excited to try Marseilles. We were seen to our table and the female server told us the special for evening - which we declined. My sister does not eat meat and so we were not interested. A few minutes later, she returned and re-offered the same special. We declined again. And placed our order. We never saw her again until she delivered the check. I had a $48 steak frites, allegedly 12 ounces. Four ounces of fat and gristle and tasteless. The Bearnaise was watery and I have never seen Bearnaise like this. Flavorless, just a waste of calories. And the frites? What oil did they use? Peanut oil? Perhaps the server should have said this in case of an allergy, just my opinion. Anyway, they had a peculiar taste to me. I ate my meal bc what else could I do when we had to be at the theater in 30 minutes? $38 at Parc and the meat is like butter, with zero fat, the Bearnaise is creamy and superb. And the frites? We never leave one behind! The best part of the experience was the busser, a young woman, who was positively delightful. I tried to find her when I paid the bill to tip her separately, but I couldn't find her. Sorry! She deserved the money bc she was attentive, friendly, and the true bright spot of the evening.

We were lucky to get two seats at the bar. I would recommend making a reservation in advance which we did not do. The bartenders were so nice and chill and smiling and happy and made great recommendations. The food came pretty quickly, and the servers were kind, kind, and knowledgeable. The wine was incredible. I have never had such smooth tasting Chianti. The food was delicious. The coffee and cappuccino was excellent, I loved this place!

Really good service. I just tried the duck mousse that it's good. There was one famous actor having dinner there with his family apparently.

Absolutely irritated and utterly annoyed by how this restaurant treated my reservation that I booked thru their website which was dispatched to open table. I chose a 11PM reservation because my friend and I were going to see Moulin Rouge around the corner which let out approximately at 10:45PM. The restaurant had 11PM reservations available, and allowed me to book it thru open table. At about 7PM I receive a text from open table stating my table is ready at Marseille. I realize that’s not right; I message thru open table asking for clarification from the restaurant about the reservation. I receive no message back, but at about 10PM in the last part of my show I receive a phone call and voicemail from someone at the restaurant stating the last seating they have is 10:45PM and if I could not make that, they hoped to see me on another night. Well we ended up making it by 10:50PM to be sat, and needless to say I should have followed my instincts based off the mishandling of our reservation and essentially the attempt at shooing us away beforehand. This is a lovely restaurant, the ambiance is nice and the seating is comfortable. Our server was adequate, but definitely had the attitude that she really did not wish to be there. We ordered cocktails immediately and were ready to order quickly, trying to expedite the experience; and the soup and salad arrived quickly. Our steak and frites came out before we had finished our starters. Did it feel as if we were being rushed? Absolutely it did. The steak an alleged a 12oz NY, was absolutely the saddest looking steak I’ve ever laid eyes on, to their credit it was cooked to perfection, but it was nearly inedible as most of it was gristle/fat. Promptly at 11:30 the song “Closing Time” by Semisonic was played in what I can only assume is their attempt at sarcastic humor; it felt cheap— even sleazy when you are spending that type of money for dinner. Our server checked back on us and asked if we were okay, I didn’t mention the poor quality of the steak because it felt beyond awkward at that point. We asked to see a dessert menu and our server begrudgingly obliged us and another round of drinks. We ordered a crème brûlée which when it arrived 25 minutes later was absolutely the highlight of the meal. After dessert we sat there, and waited a significant amount of time waiting to cash out. How had I been rushed this entire time starting at 7PM by the establishment, and then at the very end they seemed like they could care less to get us out of there? So I got up from my booth, and tracked down our server who was having a labor dispute with her manager in the corner, and had her process my payment as I listened to them bicker back and forth and then returned back to my table, signed my tab, and left feeling so poorly about my decision to have dinner here.Overall the place looks lovely, however the experience lacked the hospitality and also the quality that you would expect. Also don’t allow reservations to be made in the last hour if you want to have everyone out by 11:30PM.

Had an incredible brunch here on Sunday, 3/17 and had to share! Top-notch food, attentive and welcoming service, nice atmosphere, what more can you want? Getting to meet and talk with Sara was an absolutely delightful way to start our day, it was honestly like catching up with a long-time friend and that pushed this meal over the top. Was sad to have to fly back home to Seattle afterward, but it was a perfect last meal in the city before doing so. Would absolutely recommend and come again next time we’re in town.
