Nowadays New York is a sixteen hour flight away, and no matter how long I am in town for- Marumi is always on my menu. It is this warm anticipation that everything will be just perfect that pulls me back every time. Hope our next encounter will not be too far away.

This is one of my most dependable sushi places to eat after Original Tomoe changed hands. Today was huge disappointment when part of the meal, salmon roll, was more like tuna roll color. Sure enough it didn't sit well with my tummy afterwards. Otherwise, they were their typical dependable quality meal. Wait staff was also less than usual attentiveness.

The sushi for 2 is such a great deal for the amount of sushi and cost. There are so many pieces to try. My one feedback is that the sushi wasn't as fresh as I remembered it to be. The sushi was lacking the freshness that I would of liked to see

The fish is acceptable. However, the ice cream tastes really bad. It has a strong favor of sugar substitute. The service is also bad. It run out and yelled at me after 15% tip.

This place has been here like forever. A solid place to get your sushis, rolls and makis. They used to have sobas but the last few times I went back, it's not on the menu anymore. I wonder why. Has soba gone the way of near extinction becáuse of the proliferation of udons and the ubiquitous ramen houses? I hope they bring back their soba option. And they charged for tea now? The place is comfortable with various seating choices like on tables, or their sushi counter, and they've got this little 'backyard' where you'll feel like dining in open air. I would recommend this place if you're not looking for fancy schmanzy Japanese joint, just a simple satisfactory Japanese meal.

This is a step above no frills in the best way! The Chef's Choice Sushi is priced very reasonably ($50 after tip and tax)!considering there is uni and toro. I really enjoyed the sweet shrimp and scallop as well. I always forget to ask for no wasabi, which came in each nigiri but it wasn't too bad! I think next time I'll try the Sushi Jo for slightly less but without uni. I arrived close to opening and there were already several parties. It filled up a decent amount shortly after, with families, couples, other smaller groups etc.

Super fresh fish. I am impressed by this place. The prices are super reasonable as well. I got a $27 entree that came with 5 pieces of assorted sushi and 2 rolls. The salmon and avocado roll was a standout, although everything was delicious. The service was excellent -- very friendly and attentive waiters. And the ambiance was so cozy and intimate... just what we needed after a long day exploring the city!
