Amazing food, terrible, slow, inattentive service. QR code ordering is ridiculous at sit-down restaurant.

The food was absolutely delicious!! My whole family loved it. The service was so kind. We'll be back!
Love the chocolate martini 👽🍸🤤🤤🤤🤤
I ordered the in-bone goat dish with collard greens (included). I also ordered a side of Alitcha. None of the food was cooked properly. The carrots in the Alitcha were not tender. The goat was still tough. The food was also not spicy enough. Skip this one and venture further into Harlem for Ethiopian food.
Delicious and authentic food and the portions are reasonably priced and reasonably sized. Attracts a diverse clientele, not only students from the University. They have gluten free njara for a small extra price.

Great restaurant with excellent service! The staff are so friendly and quick. The food was also really tasty. This is a great neighborhood joint that I’ll definitely go back to again.

We went there Sunday night, waited for a whole hour for our food but nothing came. The servers were chilling there and just chatting. I am super disappointed, never come to this restaurant.

Expect an hour and more before you get the food. Environment is nice but the slow service leaves a sour taste…
I discovered this place just recently after living in Harlem for more than a decade, and I'm sad I didn't know about it all along. The food was amazing! And a very pleasant eat in experience which can be hard to find for Ethiopian / Eritrean cuisine which is often more take out. They also have a very nice wine and cocktail list. I will definitely be back!
Lunch rush extends well into afternoon at this busy eatery. I was especially impressed with their dessert quality. Employees notice subtle customer signals. Massawa impresses with its thoughtful little extras. Strong backing for this place.

I loved it so much!! All the food was so delicious and it was probably the best Ethiopian food I’ve ever had! Everything comes on a massive platter of ethiopian pancake. I suggest the vegan sampler, the dahab Beghe, and the Zegeni

I came here for a Sunday night, dinner and really enjoyed the food. For our first experience of Ethiopian food, I enjoyed the flavors of my salmon dish and the red lentils. Ingera bread was tasty and something different. The Samusa was really good, but I did not care for the sauces. My Agave ginger lemonade drink was ok.

I did not have a good experience with ordering for delivery (through Uber eats). The food did not match what we ordered (they replaced duba with veg sampler). The food came 15 minutes later than estimated (~55min from order to delivery). And the portions are not worth the $26 per dish. (I'm assuming the portions are larger when you eat there.) The food was tasty enough.

Yelp reviewers were right about how good this place is. Kind, friendly, amiable, qualified. Their menu combines quality and service with sensible pricing. The meals satisfy alongside attentive staff. The experience here is excellent!
