My husband and I have been coming here for years. Undoubtedly BEST sushi in nyc! Always fresh, delicious, and consistent. We adore the staff and their service. Always recommend, for take out or even to dine in.

Wanted to do a different spot for Japanese cuisine tonight and noticed Matsu had great reviews on GrubHub, so we tried this establishment for takeout. The sushi all around was excellent, and we loved the sushi pizza in particular! Highly recommended, and will definitely order from Matsu again.

My wife and I went to this restaurant. A Mandarin-speaking waitress deliberately pretended not to understand Mandarin and had an unreasonably bad attitude toward Chinese customers for no reason. She tried to take away our soup without asking, even though we hadn’t finished it. When she picked up our bowl, her fingers went into the soup. We told her we weren’t done yet, then she just slammed the bowl back onto the table. We forgot to ask for her name.

This place serves Chinese Sushi: it is cheaper but not the same quality of the authentic Japanese Sushi. Do not order hot coffee from this place; they are instant coffee warmed up in microwave - the cup is burning hot while the coffee is lukewarm. The ambience is OK except the sushi chefs made a lot of noises, and the waitresses keep dropping things. I gave them credit for trying to be cheerful and friendly.
