Diamond blended my drink for a full 69+ seconds and then lied to my face that she did it right. I paid $8 for garbage that needed to be remade, I did NOT get it remade or even an apology. I would still like a manager response, my time and money was wasted. She stopped making my drink and left it blending way too long to serve other customers. Now I have to check who's working first to make sure I don't see Diamond. She was rude, lied to my face and gaslit me in front of customers.

I went to Matto every day with my sister on my recent stay in Harlem. The prices on these coffees are amazing and the staff is super friendly. Ordering on the app is so easy and you get your drink so fast, so it is by far one of the most convenient options. I haven’t tried their food there but all the pastries look yummy.

The Matto at w 143rd and Broadway is my regular place for great and affordable lattes. The staff is always very welcoming and remembers who you are. I enjoy their pastries as well though they are hit or miss as far as availability which is the only area I would want them to improve on. Coffee is always fresh and good with a little chocolate included on the side every time. Their smoothies are also very good and affordable. Best advice is to use the app which gives a better price than in-store and offers many promotions. The atmosphere is very casual but regulars do come in and stay for a while and it is friendly inside.

I love how relaxed this place is, and they have an appetizing selection of snacks and drinks. The hot chocolate is creamy and thick and not too sweet; the strawberry lemonade is refreshing and tart with sharp slivers of freeze-dried strawberries; the smoothies (chocolate banana or strawberry banana) are satisfying, and the coffee is classy. The vibe in Matto is immaculate: you can chill and be anonymous or you can hang and chat. It’s a nice spot to meet a friend for a cup of tea, or to swing by and grab a treat. They have a good mixture of savory (omelette croissant or spinach bureka) and sweet (banana bread or scone). If you’re in the area, I highly recommend this spot.
I visit Matto Espresso frequently for a latte and pastry. Misha is always friendly and very helpful, especially with the app. Matto Espresso is a fantastic addition to the neighborhood. Misha is a great asset to Matto Espresso.
