I really like Matto. The store that’s close to where I live is wonderful. This store, next to MSK, is not good. I was at MSK for treatment today (8/18/25) at about 12:30 and went to Matto. The young man behind the counter seemed rude and uninformed. The signage at this store doesn’t specify all items (like the store close to my home). I wanted some chai. I asked him for some “spiced chai” or “masala chai” and he said Matto doesn’t have that item. He said Matto has sweet chai. I tried to explain that the type of chai Matto sells is also referred to as masala chai or spiced chai but he just wasn’t getting it. I think he needs more training in the products they sell as well as in politeness.

Everybody knows Matto has some of the tastiest coffee in NYC for the most affordable prices. And the Matto on 68th is the absolute best in the city, Their customer service stands miles apart from the competition. Mary, Mary, and Zay are the kindest, sweetest most genuine people I've ever met. They greet me and the other regulars by name upon entry and always check in to see whats new. A staple of the community, would highly recommend to anyone.

It's due to Mary and Zey that make this store a warm inviting place! The Avocado 🥑 Egg 🥚 Croissant 🥐 is so good. They sell out pretty quickly. One time they ran out, a staff member was nice enough to give me hers! It was the very last one she was saving for lunch.
