This is, in my opinion, THE best Italian restaurant in NYC. The space is adorable, the food is phenomenal and the service is amazing. It's just the most idyllic, cozy dinner spot and I love it so much
Rosana, the manager, and her staff provided an exceptional dining experience made the evening memorable. Each course was outstanding—the Prosciutto di Parma, Orecchiette Pugliesi, and Spaghetti alla Chitarra were all prepared to perfection. The martinis were perfectly balanced, and the tiramisu was a delightful finale. Truly an excellent experience, and one I would wholeheartedly recommend.

A beautiful, upscale restaurant. I arrived late to New York and went looking for a restaurant with my wife and daughter. We chose this restaurant. It was wonderful. The staff was respectful and professional, with good manners. The food was delicious. I highly recommend it. I would like to thank the waiter who welcomed us late and kindly fulfilled our requests.

We had such an amazing experience at Max. When I made the reservation, I had written a note that it was our anniversary and we had had our first date at their restaurant. The owner reserved the same table for us, greeted us personally, and brought us champagne. It was such a personable touch. The Spaghetti Del Marinaio was one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had. It was such a memorable night. Max is one of our favorites and we will definitely be going back.
Food was average at best. Cesar salad was over dressed and pasta over cooked. Not sure the hype on this spot.
It is a cute little restaurant with some seating outside. The outdoor seats were very close together though so bigger groups might be better inside. The wine list online did not match the actual one which was disappointing. They also did not have a cocktail menu in-person but said they have a full bar so they could make anything. I ended up getting an aperol spritz which was good. The bread at the table was delicious. Food came out super quick and was very good. Service was great. I wasn't wowed by the restaurant overall but I would go back
Ordered from here recently, the Calamari was 21 pieces of Calamari for $18.
The food is good, the portion sizes have gotten smaller through the years, on every dish, to the point that it's kinda ridiculous.

This is a small neighborhood Italian restaurant with delicious food. I will definitely go back.
They were able to take us ahead of our reservation time and the service was prompt and attentive. The Edison lighting offered a warm ambience and the food was delicious. I had the Porcini raviolis and my husband, the lemon caper chicken. An intimate restaurant that offers indoor an outdoor seating with big ambience. Will definitely return!
We celebrated our son‘s birthday at Max and we had a large table. They were so accommodating and the food was so excellent This is definitely one of our favorite places to go.
Please use AC in the future. Food and service was amazing but too hot and loud inside to enjoy the experience
Really enjoyed our meal at Max. We felt we could have been in Italy - a really lovely atmosphere. Great food x
