Was craving tex mex baddd and being from Texas, that’s a hard craving to satisfy in NYC. Maz Mezcal honestly did not do a bad job, I enjoyed this meal.
I got the Enchiladas Combinadas platter which featured three different enchiladas, rice, and refried beans. The chicken and cheese enchiladas were pretty good. Seasoning on the chicken was nice and the red sauce worked well with it. The beef enchilada I thought was just fine and lacked a bit of depth to it. Rice was fine and beans were great.
I also got chips and the Salsa Verde on the side which was also okay. I did love the flavor and heat of the salsa but it was very runny and hard to scoop up with the chips.
To drink I had a virgin Frozen Blackberry Marg which was refreshing!

Maz Mezcal is an institution. A place always worth going to. Great guacamole, great fajitas, and great mole. I have gone there for years and it is consistently good. Also very nice people and good places to sit outside. Good drinks and fun.

Drinks and chile rellenos (cheese) as an a la carte order for an appetizer were terrific. The Escondido combination plate was disappointing. We had asked for the pork chop NOT to be needlessly overcooked so as to remain juicy --diner instructions were not followed. And the ground beef mixture in the taco and another diner's chile relleno was dry and tasteless. This is the second visit where the ground beef mixture has not tasted good. Again, either it's overcooked, never spiced properly to begin with or both. The mole sauce, despite its abundance, is too sweet and this seems to be a consistent problem not a one-time experience. However, the refried beans on the side and the salsas offered with chips are perfect.

Usually we have a wonderful experience every time. Our server must have been new. We were a table of 7 with kids and he forgot one of the kids meals, and took forever to come back and rarely checked on us. We will always come back since we love this restaurant but hope this is a one time experience

Back part of restaurant is way too loud and there was a table of pre-teen girls sitting by themselves and they were extremely loud/shouting. Nobody told them to quiet down and it was very difficult to hear the 3 other people in my party making conversation very difficult.

Can't beat Taco Tuesday! We were greeted very warmly and everything went smoothly from there. Fun drinks, delicious tacos, comfortable and relaxed atmosphere.

I ALWAYS ALWAYS go to Maz Mescal when i am in Manhattan! Best mex food around. Locally owned n always so nice and friendly!! And HAVE to add that their coconut frozen margheritas are THE best i have tried!! My absolute favorites!!!

My family went for Mother's Day. This is a neighborhood restaurants where people go as much for the comfortable atmosphere as for the delicious food We were served excellent food by a cheerful, courteous and attentive wait staff. The menu has a wide variety of Mexican dishes so there is something for everyone. We had two different mole dishes, chicken Fajitas, a combo platter of familiar Mexican foods (taco, enchilada, tostada) and shrimp in a garlic butter sauce with rice & black beans. Clean plates all around. We then shared some traditional Mexican desserts such as sopapillas This is a restaurant to return to time and time again

I thoroughly enjoy the food and the ambiance. My date and I always seem to get the same table and that also feels special. I had the Mexican chicken soup. It was delicious and full of chicken and chunks of avocado and other vegetables. It was a meal onto itself and I love their margaritas. I highly recommend Maz Mezcal.
