Amazing beef stew! Might be the best I’ve ever had. Cozy atmosphere, friendly servers, lots of Irish brogue! But that beef stew is off the hook!

First time in New York and had heard good reviews so had to try it out. Great food and bar staff are super friendly 👌 We were staying in Time Square so we ended up here every night after our sight seeing. Couldn't recommend this place enough 💯💚🇺🇲

The staff at the entrance was very friendly, but the bartender on the second floor was very unfriendly. It seemed like the server completely ignored the Guinness order and went out with other drinks first. The server kept asking the bartender when the Guinness would be served, and even though I asked him to order Guinness, it didn't come out. At least. I feel very bad that they just put it on without an apology.

I can vouch that this is a proper Irish-American pub. They got proper Guinness like at home (the pint size however is smaller than Ireland). Poured by a Kerry Man, so we know it is a proper one. ?

Staff members are all super duper nice.

Good wise, it is mostly American stuffs. They are decent though.

Would highly recommed it for anyone who wants to experience Irish pub. Be warned though, the amount of alcohol served in cocktails are way higher than in Ireland. Cocktails are stronger.

McCarthy's Signature Burger might be the best burger I've ever had. Randomly walked in looking for dinner and was blown away.

If you are looking for a traditional full Irish breakfast they have it on the menu but unfortunately its nothing like an Irish breakfast in reality. The sausages were poor quality and over cooked, the same with the black and white pudding, they were tiny and dry. Also oddly enough it didn't come with any bread or toast. The bacon seemed legit Irish/English but pretty dry and over cooked as well.

McCarthy's a stones throw from Time Square. What can I say about the place. It's an excellent place to stop on a visit to New York when you're in the Time Square area. The food is excellent, the drinks are on par and hit the spot. The staff most of the from Ireland are attentive and friendly. There's Live Music there every night. They also have plenty of tv's to watch your favorite sporting events soccer, Football, Baseball, Ice Hockey, Irish Gaelic Football, Irish Hurling and more. It's a long narrow bar that has two levels so don't be dissuaded when you look in if the bar seems crowded as there's another whole level with another bar and balcony to over look the street. The crowd is just like New York, you'll find tourists from all over the world, locals that live in New York and consider McCarthy's their local and Irishmen from every county.

They were kind to take my group of friends and myself in on Sunday after a concert. We sat upstairs to be more private but the atmosphere was just perfect. We you can hear the live performances downstairs but don't have to worry about other customers near you being bothered at how loud you are. Very nice and efficient staffs too
