After running in the United Half on Sunday, I was in need of a little pick-me-up before heading back home to Jersey. That’s when I stumbled across this small, cozy café—and I’m so glad I did!
Not sure what I wanted, I decided to be that annoying customer and asked the barista to surprise me with their best drink. They did not disappoint! I was handed a beautifully balanced iced chai latte—perfectly spiced, just the right amount of sweetness, and easily one of the best I’ve ever had.
At the time, there were a few customers ahead of me, but Jae, the barista working that day, was an absolute pleasure. She juggled everything effortlessly—taking orders, making drinks, chatting with customers—all while humoring my request.
I can confidently say I’m hooked! This little café has won me over, and it’ll definitely be a regular stop whenever I’m in the city.

Perfect little local coffee shop. Go here every morning when I am in town. Coffee is good, they have plenty of pastries though I have not tried. Service is very friendly and personable. Not the biggest place...no where to sit down and work or anything...but a great place to grab a coffee for the road. Will be back!

Matcha is not good and if it’s iced it’s a full cup of ice and maybe half a cup of matcha at best. I will try coffee next time. Lovely staff though.

This cafe was the highlight of my NYC trip. I stumbled upon the cafe as I was making my way to the hotel, and I am glad I stopped for a cup of coffee! Their speciality lattes were delicious, I would recommend the rose/pistachio latte or their chai latte. Their dessert were also delicious, over the span of 5 days, I tired every single dessert they had, and none of them disappointed. MCM will be my first stop for all future NYC trips.
Wheelchair accessibility: Staircase leading down to the cafe and there’s only enough space for 3-4 people to stand.
