I can only describe this restaurant with the sound *chefs kiss*. Eating the here was like that scene in Ratatouille where Remi puts the cheese and the fruit in his mouth at the same time and fireworks start going off in his mind. These analogies are colorful but only because its so hard to describe how truly incredible this place is - will definitely be back and highly recommend, if you go you'll know
I’m not sure what was better the food or atmosphere. I’m glad I new the trick to get in because it was worth every penny.
I'll give Mehran's five stars on the assumption that getting kicked out of a reservation that took me 4 months to get must say something about the high standards of the restaurant. To be clear, I wasn't "kicked out", but my reservation was abruptly cancelled about a minute after our arrival, shortly after I'd inquired of the host if the restaurant had any A1 Sauce. I thought that was a reasonable thing to ask before I go and drop a ton of money on a dinner. Based on the host's response, I'm guessing they didn't have any A1, which since I don't eat steak without A1, means I didn't need that reservation anyway.
Super hard to get a reservation but so glad I ended up landing one!! Everything was so amazing and the service was impeccable. Absolutely recommend. 10/10
Best steak I have ever had in NY - cooked exquisitely with the best ingredients. I don't think I can ever look at meat again without having flashbacks of my experience here. The wait can be pretty long, but the food makes it all worth it.Highly recommend the Tenderloin, cooked SF style - hints of both cities hidden throughout the flavor pallet. The service was phenomenal, Mehran is the most hospital host. What an honor to be served by such a gentleman.
Words cannot explain how phenomenal the steak was. Never have I tasted something so delicious and exquisite. As you take a bite, your entire being is transported to pure bliss and serenity. It’s evident that the steak was cooked by the hands of god. Do not get me started on the service. Absolutely magnificent. The kindest souls you’ll meet in your life who make your dining experience magical. There would be moments in my day that I think about the steak and cannot leave my mind. I traveled to many countries, cities, and the seven seas in search of a good cooked piece of meat, and I have finally found it. If you haven’t tried Mehran’s Steakhouse what are you waiting for!? Run and get their steak!
It took me over a year to get a table here, I almost gave up because of how hard it is, but to anyone else trying you should definitely keep trying. It was one of the best food experiences of my life and I can’t wait until I get a chance to go back. I’ve only had steak twice in my life and only Mehran’s will be my third
I went on a date here with my girlfriend a few weeks ago, and for the price of food and the service I got, I can only really comfortably give it three stars.Food: we got the surf n turf for 2 but really it could feed 1½ people. When we asked for more food the server LAUGHED then got more serious and said that they couldn't do anything unless we buy more. But besides that the food was good. They had a live band in that night and they were fantastic!!
Vegetarian options: Lots of asparagus type dishes.
Finally got a table after a long wait. Good cocktails. Steaks no better than the established names, but it’s the best I’ve found in the area! Will be back!
When you give a prodigy, savant, and sociopath access to the finest cuts of wagyu, you get Mehran’s steak house. An experience unlike any other.

Mehran's Steakhouse is not just a restaurant, it's a life-changing experience.I used to be a devout vegan, believing that a plant-based diet was the only way to live a moral and healthy life. But, I was wrong. So incredibly wrong. The moment I took my first bite of the steak at this heavenly establishment, my eyes were opened to the truth. The tender, juicy meat was like a revelation, a taste of divinity. The flavors, the textures, the aromas - they all conspired to awaken my senses and elevate my soul. I realized that I had been living a life of deprivation, denying myself the pleasure of the greatest food on Earth. But the steak was only the beginning of my journey. The service was impeccable, the ambiance was elegant, and the company was divine. I was in the presence of culinary royalty, and I felt like a king. And then, there was Chef Mehran. He is not just a chef, he's a visionary, a genius, a god among men. The steak that he served us was a work of art, a symphony of flavors, a masterpiece of culinary excellence.
*Disclaimer, I am a chef myself running a restaurant in SF called Yomakase, my dishes are nothing comparing to Mehran's steakI recently dined at Mehran's Steak House and was blown away by the incredible experience. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a cozy and intimate ambiance. The staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. And the food! Oh my goodness, the steaks were some of the best I've ever had. Cooked to perfection and seasoned just right, each bite was a delight for the senses. The sides were equally delicious, with creamy mashed potatoes, crispy onion rings, and fresh green beans all being standouts. But what really stood out to me was the attention to detail and care that the staff put into every aspect of the meal. From the way the table was set to the presentation of each dish, it was clear that they take great pride in their work and truly want their customers to have an unforgettable dining experience.Overall, I would highly recommend Mehran's to anyone looking for a top-notch steak dinner. The quality of the food, the ambiance, and the service all make for an amazing experience that I will definitely be returning for.
Mehran's Steakhouse is not just a restaurant, it's a culinary journey to the very depths of flavor heaven. The moment you step through the doors, you are transported to a realm of gastronomic ecstasy, where every bite is a symphony of taste and texture. The steaks, oh the steaks, they are the stuff of legends, cooked to perfection with a seared exterior that gives way to a succulent and juicy interior. These steaks are not just mere food, they are a religious experience, a sacrament of the highest order. The service is nothing short of impeccable, with waiters and waitresses who anticipate your every need and cater to your every desire. They are true ambassadors of the art of hospitality, ensuring that your dining experience is nothing short of extraordinary. The ambiance is grand and luxurious, a perfect setting for any special occasion or a romantic dinner. But what truly sets this steakhouse apart is the man behind the magic, the culinary genius, the meat maestro himself, Chef Mehran. He is a master of his craft, a true artist who imbues every dish with his passion and creativity. His presence alone elevates the dining experience to a whole new level. In short, Mehran's Steakhouse is a culinary pilgrimage that every steak lover must undertake. The steaks, the service, the ambiance, and the chef himself, all come together to create a dining experience that is nothing short of transcendent. It is a place where the boundaries between food and art blur, where flavor and emotion collide, where the sublime and the sensual meet. It is a place where you will experience the ultimate culinary enlightenment, a place where you will truly taste the divine.
Heard about MS from a friend and took a date here. The entire experience—from walking through the door to Mehran’s signature steak—was a delight. Romantic, light, nostalgic yet modern. Will be back.
One of the best steaks I’ve had in my life. When I went, we got several cuts and the venison special. The steaks were cut perfect medium rare and well seasoned. Got to meet the head chef Mehran too— he came over to check on us. Such a nice guy. My friends can only eat halal meat, so he took us to the back and we slaughtered the cow and performed the Dua prayer together. It was a beautiful experience and I can’t recommend it enough. It can be hard to get in, but it is well worth it!
