A hidden gem. Food and service were excellent. Cocktails were amazing. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. A definite repeat!
The brunch is absurdly amazing - the food is good and it’s great for groups.

Hours say they close at 2am. Walked by at midnight and they are dead closed.

Coming from a restaurant background. I will say that some of the staff are slightly unprofessional. Or rather just "lazy" within the workplace. The host poured himself and a customer a drink and proceeded to sit down two tables down from my partner and I. I decided not to order food beyond my nachos for two reasons. One being that my nachos happen to be burnt. The other is my waiter not only didn't return to my table but just walked in a circle around the bar. I'm going to clarify that the time was around 8:30~ on a Tuesday night. Definitely not a peak hour for this type of place. I would've ordered more food if only my waiter had walked anywhere near my table I don't believe I have to yell across the room to grab their attention. The buildings lights were very dim on the inside but overall the place was a good atmosphere. The staff could use a little more attentiveness. Especially if the nachos are going to be $16.00 all just to come burnt to my table. I can't say the food was terrible based off one dish however the staff seem to be a little distant minded at times. Hope this helps

Love Merchants. A chill, laidback great dining experience. The staff is wonderful, the owner is wonderful and the food is good. It’s perfectly located on 7th avenue between 22nd and 21st. It’s never overly crowded (in a good way). I love the bathrooms! Individual bathrooms that are very clean. And, my favorite part is the back section. This are can be reserved for special occasions and is just really cool and eclectic. All of the sudden, you don’t feel like you’re in NYC. It’s an awesome lounge, but you have to see if for yourself to really get it. I definitely recommend this place. Comfort food.

Food is not good. We had the pork tacos and they were extremely oily. The calamari came with okras (why??) and was extremely salty and badly seasoned. Would not recommend.

Was working late in the area on a Sunday and decided to treat myself to a nice dinner. It was not busy so I sat at the bar, the bartender messed up my beer order and never came back. She spent her time watching the Oscars with her friends on one of the many TVs in the place. She never checked in on me to take my food order or offer me another drink. By the time someone checked on me 30 minutes later I asked for the check. Maybe the food is good, I wouldn't know.

I had the Pan seared Salmon in Shittake Mushroom Broth. Boy was that good! The broth was aHHH AMAZING! So good I had to order some extra bread (that was good and it was 2.50) to sop up the rest of that glorious broth on the salmon!I was low key considering ordering another order but I figured that would be greedy...The pasta was fine, but not as good as the salmon. A bit of a tangy taste but it was good, just not GREAT like my salmon dish was.Service was in point and perfect. No complains there at all. When we popped in, not many ppl were there. One table with about 5 ppl and they were finishing and another table with 2 and they were done, just talking.I'd def come back here though to order that salmon in mushroom broth, it was HEAVENLY.
