I contacted the restaurant privately through their feed box because I didn’t want to resort to leaving a bad review, but it’s been weeks later and I have yet to get a response. The restaurant staffed one waiter for the entire bottom floor section. He was very kind, but clearly overworked. We ordered the silver option, but were never served our specialty items where you only can be served them once. For example, our bone marrow we asked three times when it was coming never came. We ate the basic meal plan, but paid for the silver simply because the food was never brought out to us. We never got sauces or drinks, and when we had to ask for basic things like utensils. I understand it was busy, but this is completely on the restaurant for understaffing. Flew in from Michigan to try this restaurant, and can only say how disappointed I am in not only the atmosphere, but service provided. Truly don’t know why the website has a contact section when they don’t even get back to you when you try to solve the issue in a mature way. We talked to the waiter about never receiving the items from the silver menu which we paid extra for, and he said there’s nothing he can do about it and no refund we could get for the difference. If you are in New York, please support a business that values their customers and doesn’t overlook them.

Made a reservation one month in advance for a birthday dinner @ 7:00pm, and they ended up overbooking so we weren’t seated until 8:00pm. What’s the point of a “reservation” if they can’t honor it?

Also, it’s AYCE but they bring out the food so slowly that you’ll end up only getting a few orders brought over and then suddenly it’s last call. The wagyu nigiri also came out cold—not room temperature but actually cold—which makes me question the freshness.

Beef was good but given all the other issues I wouldn’t come back.

Pretty good. I liked the Nigiri sushi, A5 shoulder, bone marrow, and grouper the most. The sukiyaki broth is a must. The service was really good too. Good spot

All you can eat for two people was $196 + tip. 🤷

Had our first time at Mikiya yesterday. It definitely will not be the last. Food was amazing, everything was tasty, but what made our dinner amazing was our server. He explained the concept and provided us 'newcomers' with a nice culinary experience, explaining which cut has what type of characteristics, what is lean or fattier etc. Could not have asked for better service on my birthday. We will be back soon!

I went there soup was average, they do give out a lot of unlimited meat but the sauce to eat the hot pot with was not that good. The special appetizer was very good but limited to only 1 per person. Their regular appetizers was very good like shrimp tempura. There no sushi as shown on the pictures so it was not worth it for us for the price we paid.

Mikiya is a nice experience!

The service was a bit slow in the beginning, which was unusual since we were one of approx. four tables on a random Tuesday.

Once we had a flow going after ordering (we chose the silver set), I ordered the Wagyu tartare and the sukiyaki and spicy miso soup base for the table. We tried a bunch of different cuts of meats and all of them were delicious. The seafood platter is very generous & is based per person, but every thing was very fresh. The egg dip & sukiyaki were so good!

They ran out of a lot of condiments, but we had Thai chili, egg, green onion & garlic. The soup base itself was flavorful enough though.

Overall good experience & would likely come back for special occasions!

The new manager imposed an arbitrary rule! You can only get 2 plates of each beef at once. Extremely disrespectful.
