I was a little disappointed with this restaurant. The food and atmosphere were great, but it’s a cash-only establishment, which caught me off guard. In a city like New York, where card payments are so common, it feels a bit inconvenient. Make sure to bring cash if you plan to visit!

There is nothing about this place that is inviting from the outside. The tinted front windows are more at place in a bordello than a cafe. The tables outside are a mess. And once you get inside it’s not much better.

That said, the young woman working the counter on the Saturday I went there with my family was beyond delightful, patient and professional. Not only did she welcome each customer, not only did she graciously take orders, she actually would bring said orders to the customers at their tables. Really, she could have just called out names, but she went the extra mile. The food was great and quite affordable too. The combination of the two brings in loyal locals, one after another, all waiting patiently in line.

One major downer: There is only one (short order) cook and there really needs to be at least two. The wait is way too long. The owner needs to step up and find another cook. It’s not fair to customers nor to staff.

All in all, however, a great experience.

It was all delicious, giant pancakes with lots of toppings... And the coffee was really good... Not a given in NYC!

Great prices and quality but the place needs a interior renovation. It has huge potential for growth and stability.

Solid place for a cheap, good breakfast. I'm just mad that the owner won't spend a bit more money to pay some young student to work the counter. The cook can't do everything all the time alone on a busy morning. Give Sergio a break! I've seen people walk out because they can't stand there and wait.

Excellent local eatery. We knew we found a good spot when we found all the local pensioners grabbing lunch here.

The food was great and cheap. I want to give this place 5 stars because the one person working was working hard and very friendly. The problem was that there was only 1 person working. He was making all of the food, taking orders, running the register, and bringing food to tables. That is too much for one person to do and more people should be staffed. The wait time in line was longer than it should've been and that was not the fault of the one person working.

Had a couple breakfast sandwiches and an omelette at Mila’s Cafe. It was really tasty and the omelette plate filled us up quite well. Affordable prices and the kindest kitchen staff we’ve come across in a while. Highly recommend, thank you!

We fell completely in love with the service and the food. Portions are huge! And the service is friendly and super good! We have nothing but love for Mila Cafe ?

It’s cash only, service may take a while but is because the food is prepared with care. We had no problems to find table as people come and go.

I'm not sure how this place is still in business. It's always empty and the food is essentially the same stuff you'd get from a breakfast cart (in type and quality). If you're looking for a good causal breakfast spot go up the street to Effy's Cafe, that's probably what you're looking for.

Super good pancakes in the upper west side. I chose pancakes and fruits, the service was quite quick and the staff was super friendly. A lot of people came and go, they speak both English and Spanish. Payment is cash only. Pancakes were fluffy and giant, fruit was fresh.

Amazing coffee with a friendly staff. It was my safe place when I was traveling in New York to take my breakfast. The price is very good and the food was so yummy. Thanks a lot and see you soon I hope :)
