I visited MILA’S BISTRO for the first time in May and stopped by for a quick bite and a cold beer on a hot day. The atmosphere is super authentic with a bit of a retro vibe — very charming and relaxed. The staff were sweet and helpful, offering great suggestions without being pushy. I left happy and definitely plan to come back!
I was initially headed to a nearby restaurant, but when I arrived, it was a scene with a waiting line... after 30 years in NYC, I don't do lines! So I walked just a few blocks away looking for another place and happened to see Mila's neon sign and the quaint, familiar yellow and red bistro exterior. I just had dinner there last night. I was really excited to try them as their menu isn't just traditional French, so I could go with whatever mood struck me. I was also in a group of 7, and we all had something different. I ordered the chicken sandwich. I asked if this was a grilled chicken sandwich - I have a hard time finding a good one in NYC as every other place offers a fried chicken sandwich, which has become clichè. The waitress said it was a grilled chicken sandwich....
