The shop feels like a museum x jewelry store that showcases fine Japanese confection or wagashi, both traditional and also contemporary. I needed to do a little research before purchasing. Staff members are very helpful. If one is visiting NYC, this is an excellent shop to visit as a tourist destination. Experiment with and extend your palates for Japanese desserts that have delightful taste and elegant designs and presentation. It’s quite an experience??
I had the bean cake with cherry blossom. It was delicate, soft, delicious, sweet and flavorful. Also very expensive and not sure I'd get again, but okay as a treat. They had lactose free options but a lot of their options had milk.
Very sophisticated Japanese sweets store, many absolutely delicious cakes, some of them state-of-the-art made. Not cheap, but not extremely expensive either - comparable with some artisan chocolatier’s stores. Service is 6 stars indeed. Very much recommended to all who wants to be familiar with the world of Japanese Wagashi.
