Like its sister in the Mission in SF, Mission Chinese is so much fun. Very spicy, wild takes on the food that combine unexpected elements; always something spectacular that everyone fights over (often noodles), and a dish too hot to eat but oh so good. Nice folks run it. Try not to miss it!

Great Chinese fusion restaurant. Solid value for the feed me / banquet option

Just ordered out from here after dining in and having an amazing experience two years ago and my god. We just threw away two full entrees. Tastes like pure salt. Awful awful awful

I love this restaurant! They have splendid dishes, their menu is large, The chef in that spot is very trained, I like a lot tasting all their food. The dishes are consistently of high qualtity, the service towards the customers is helpful. I often eat in this restaurant and I was never unhappy. I recommend it to all my friends.

last night was our first time in this place. But It is absolutely not the last. We had great time with the attentive service, with the high quality dishes and fine drinks and with the modest cost. We will no doubt go back there again.

I've been a fan of Danny Bowien for years, back to the original location on Orchard. A super unique and adventurous palate in these dishes, the mapo tofu, spicy chicken wings and green tea noodles are some of my favorites. This is one of my favorite places for a nice date night. Giving only four stars however as I miss the intimacy and offbeat quality of the first iteration of this place. It's gotten a bit high priced and fallen more in line with a fine dining experience, which is beautiful in its own right.

Came here recently with two friends in tow (post COVID-19 but pre-PAUSE) after attending an art Show at the piers nearby. I had not been to this location- only having patronized the old subterranean location with the keg for the waitlisters. This space is huge, in comparison, a dark moody place with purplish lights and barely any light with which to read the menu. So painfully hip. I was glad to see that the quality had not suffered through the transition. We sampled inventive coconut milk based cocktails served out of a miso soup bowl, one of the best fried wing renditions with a smattering of Sichuan peppercorns, some silky and flavorful eggplant, and tangy and spicy dan Dan noodles, which was more like a noodle soup. Since we were stuffed silly, we got mapo tofu to go. This place is definitely worth the Hype. Definitely go if you haven't been.

I am writing a review to let everyone know right now: this is incredibly salty food. I got 2 different dishes here (pastrami Kung pao and the cumin beets). Both very delicious with distinct flavor profiles, but also SALTY. The Chinese food I eat regularly elsewhere in Chinatown is not this level of sodium. I am assuming it is an off night and would come one more time to try again.

Probably my favorite spot in Manhattan for dinner with friends. It’s weird. Danny is an amazing chef. His vision for Chinese food is different than you’ve ever had before. A must try if you like spicy.
