As someone dairy free, I was recommended these bagels by a friend. I got the bacon egg and vegan cheese on an everything bagel. It was ok, I felt like the bagel was over toasted with charred edges and the bacon was so crispy it had zero flavor. Overall an ok sandwich, just lacked flavor and that wow factor.

I've been coming here for a long time first time ever I'm very disappointed have to go to doctor now was eating the cinnamon bun cake and felt something crunchy inside my mouth i spit it up piece of glass inside very disgusted and upset after paying 30 bucks for everything

My wife and I visited NYC for our 2nd time and we had to make a stop by Modern Bread and Bagel. They are top notch for gluten free bagels and more. Their menu is, also, great for other food allergies. Their bagels are delicious however you want to make them up, their salads are amazing, and you can have all the best sweat treats with their various bake goods. We had the everything bagel with Salmon and all the toppings, their monthly special bagel with salmon and avocado, and pumpkin and chocolate dessert bread. This location is convenient to Central Park and the Natural History Museum. Their staff is very friendly and service is quick.

Long time customer, but, today stopped in to pick up bagels for my husband and myself. Decided to order French toast sticks as well. When they took longer than expected, the manager asked what pastries I’d like for free. Then, remade the bagels when the toast sticks came out and comped the entire order. It hadn’t even been that long! They really didn’t have to do that. But, what a lovely gesture. The whole team there is wonderful and really cares about the customer. Will definitely be back soon again and again.

I'm addicted to Modern's salads, bowls and veggies. I'm so sad they discontinued their evening menu. My favorites were the Newport Bowl and Lemony Broccoli. Hopefully, they'll add them to their daytime offerings. The flavors are beyond tasty - really special!

I went here without checking google maps first so I didn't know the place was 100% gluten free. I was just looking for a normal bagel so I was disappointed when I tried the bagel and realized it was not a normal bagel. I don't eat gluten free so maybe for a gluten free bagel it was good but compared to a normal gluten-filled bagel it was the worst bagel I have ever had in my life and I have really low standards for food. The vannila latte was good though and they had good customer service. There aren't any clear signs in the place about everything being gluten free except for their premade mixes they have for sale for bread and bakery items.

This is the best GF bagels I have ever had! Ate an amazing bagel on lox for the first time in a dozen years. Approved GF bagels from my celiac 5 year old.
