Stopped in before a show at MSG for a bite and a drink. Tara was a fantastic bartender, and the food was SPECTACULAR! Shifts changed just before we left, and we had 1 drink with Ian. Came back after the show, and Ian was wonderful! He remembered us from earlier in the day, and was friendly, gregarious, and a perfect example of what one should expect of a bartender at a fine Irish pub. I highly recommend stopping in. Oh, and the tartufo is absolutely to die for!!

Absolutely Terrible Service – Avoid This Pub
As someone who genuinely loves pubs and has worked in the restaurant industry for over 10 years, I can confidently say this was the worst service I’ve ever experienced.
I sat at the bar, and took forever to get my food ordered. Finally I resorted to asking the waitress on the floor if I could place an order with her, she dismissively told me to talk to the bartender because I was sitting at the bar. Which I totally understand but, she didn’t even bother to pass along the message or try to help in any way, she legit just walked away and ignored basic hospitality crazy…
Later, I got confused about an order I had made and tried to ask her about it—again, she refused to help, saying it wasn’t her job because I was at the bar. No effort to check with the kitchen, no attempt to assist or clarify, just total indifference. It was clear she didn’t care simply because bar guests don’t tip her. Then when I asked the bartender she also just acted indifferent instead of politely clarifying or being helpful she just blamed me for not paying attention. To be clear both the bartender and the waitress were VERY RUDE
I’ve never written a negative review like this, but this experience was genuinely abysmal. Don’t go here. Plenty of great pubs out there—this just isn’t one of them.

5 stars for me bc of all the memories here, have always been reliable and sweet staffing that handle the riff raff of heart of the city and MSG events like gems. Always good for a pint and warm and welcoming. Just don’t go in blitzed expecting to be served you animals!

Late review, this was back in July 2024. I was in the city on a work trip. Flight was canceled and it was late and storming. The bartender welcomed us in, immediately provided excellent service. This place ruined Guiness for me anywhere else in America so far, because it was the best I've ever had. I also had the fish and chips which were fantastic. We (my co-workers and I) enjoyed it so much, we went back the next night.

Cool place to go for a drink. The owner of the bar (Irish lady) is extremely rude and annoying she will kick you out of a table because other people want to eat. I saw argue with several people in a span of 5 minutes. Will not go back because of her.
