Great sushi. Liked the pre-fixe menu. Was quite tight in there space wise though. Cute and cozy restaurant, a bit on the pricier side.

Best Shabu Shabu in town! So glad to rediscovered them after so many years as I didn’t realize they relocated from Murray Hill. Service is always on point (been here 8 times over the last 7 months). Great sake offerings by the glass and authentic desserts too!

During my recent visit to Momokawa, I encountered a situation that left me both puzzled and concerned. The food, notably the sukiyaki, although decent, came with a price tag that leaned on the higher side. However, what truly set the tone for my review was not the quality of the food but the billing practices and the perceived service disparity.Upon receiving our bill, I was surprised to find a mandatory 20% tip added. This practice was unexpected, especially since we were a party of only four, which traditionally does not warrant an automatically included gratuity. The confusion deepened when I noticed that the table next to us, comparably sized, was not subjected to this mandatory tip. This discrepancy led me to question the criteria used for imposing this charge and whether there was an underlying bias at play. While we habitually tip 20%, the essence of tipping lies in its voluntary nature, rewarding service that goes above and beyond. The concern escalates when considering the possibility of prejudice influencing the decision to add a mandatory tip to our bill and not to others. In conclusion, while the culinary offerings at Momokawa might meet expectations, the overshadowing issues of billing practices and the potential for biased service treatment cast a shadow over my dining experience. I hope this feedback encourages Momokawa to reevaluate their policies and approach to ensure a fair, transparent, and enjoyable experience for all patrons, irrespective of background.

Warm and attentive staff. Food was pretty good. Beef sukiyaki was the best with table service.

Momokawa is a great upscale Japanese restaurant. The decoration is elegant and beautiful, there are some art pieces on the walls to sell. The service is good, some of the servers are very nice although others are a bit impatient. They made a small mess with the bill but ended up being all correct.I had a YUZU COCKTAIL which tasted good, pretty much like a yuzu juice, almost no alcohol. For three people, we started with JELLY FISH GHD (Amazing, its crispy and comes with a vinager sesame sauce with cucumber and shittake), ORGANIC AGEDASHI TOFU (comes in a delicious soy sauce and was really tasty, soft and juicy inside), ASSORTED SASHIMI (7 kinds of fish- scallops are hidden in the picture - It was really fresh and good quality), KAMO REISI (Breast duck with orange), DASHIMAKI TAMAGO (I could have skipped this one), BEEF SUKIYAKI DON with WAGYU (really tasty wagyu, soft boiled egg and some veggies over rice), EEL AVOCADO ROLL (a well done classic), TERIYAKI CHICKEN (chicken was good, served with some "bit hard" green beans and broccoli). I had the HOT ZENZAI for dessert but it was not really my thing, like a sweet bean soup.Although everything was quite good, I will definitely recommend trying the JELLY FISH, the AGEDASHI TOFU, and the BEEF SUKIYAKI.Everything was really fresh, the wasabi was high quality, and the sashimi and some other dishes came with miso soup and green salad.SPANISH:Momokawa is a good upscale Japanese restaurant.

Love this restaurant ALWAYS -however, the kitchen has last call at 9:30 and on a Friday night, it was a bit disappointing to have the staff cleaning around us while we ate. Next time it would be helpful to know, especially with a 9:00 reservation. Otherwise, love it.

Best sukiyaki in town. The price is a little bit expensive, but for the quality of the meat and the experience. It's definitely worth it.

Terrible service, low quality food! Not even a Japanese restaurant. Outsourcing to some Koreans who don't know how to do their work! I wish I could give a negative rating, sadly I couldn't. definitely, the worst restaurant in town!

Momokawa is an awesome Japanese restaurant. The service was excellent! The ramen and takoyaki we ordered were so tasty. The seaweed tasted weird; I will not order that again. The atmosphere is excellent! I wish there were some background music playing because it is so quiet. I will come back to this place!Parking: Hard parking, street parking. Expect to get ticketed.

momokawa is an awesome upscale Japanese Restaurant. One of the best dishes you should try is their Sukiyaki, it was literally the best sukiyaki we had.Sukiyaki is essentially a hotpot but with a soy sauce based broth, it comes with assorted veggie and tofu.It is a great combo pair with the outstandingA5 MIYAZAKI RIB EYE. The beef is so tender in texture and has a buttery mouth feel. Dip into an organic egg for extra richness. The entire experience was fantastic with an excellent service.Featured⤵? MIYAZAKI BEEF for 2?
