The vegan tasting menu was such a joke that I feel scammed.
As an offshoot of a two Michelin star restaurant, I had high hopes for the vegan tasting menu. Imagine my dismay when the majority of the courses were just overly acidic rice topped with roasted vegetables. There was zero creativity and thought behind the menu, and frankly the execution was mediocre at best and borderline inedible at worst. The whole experience felt unrefined and not at all worth the $175 price tag.
For those that have tried Omakaseed or Jungsik, you know that vegan tasting menus are ripe for experimentation and creativity. I guess all I can say is steer clear and save your money, beyond sushi is better.
The ads on Instagram worked great. Then, we came here and the sushi rice balls were the worst I've ever had. The chef should go back to Japan and learn how to make sushi. Today I have to say that I have a love-hate relationship with this restaurant. I like it, it‘s close, the service is good, but the sushi food is really bad, I’ve been here three times and I thought it would get better each time, but it didn‘t, why am I updating my review today? Because every time I want to eat sushi, I think of this restaurant. Today I can only give one star, will it improve in the future ?

I had a great experience at this cool neighborhood spot while visiting from out of town. The quality and creativity of the food was matched or even surpassed by the imaginative beer program. I'm normally a wine drinker, so I appreciated the parallel treatment of beers, including the interesting flavor profiles and thoughtful stemware. The service was very friendly and attentive.

We tried the omakase here and it was mediocre at best. The rice was not fresh and tasted hard (like it was out for a while).
I did like the actual sashimi so that was one saving grace.
It's worth mentioning that the staff were stellar and warm. The cocktails are very delicious and unique but the star of the show, needs work.
Oh and negi (葱), that's onions.
