Had a good dinner at Moono.
My mung bean pancakes were really salty but crispy. The beef pot was very tender and delicious. Bossam was tender but the portion size was a bit smaller than I thought.

Very pretty dining room but a bit stiff/quiet. Service was good, if not a bit formal. Food was very good, though missing the spice/seasoning of Korean food.

My friend and I went for dinner on Saturday. It was relatively quiet and I was able to have a conversation (unlike most restaurants in new york). The service was great - our waiter was very polite. The food was good but definitely overpriced given the portion.

Finally went to Moono and it delivered. Each dish held its own with unique flavors. We had a la carte among four of us with a bottle of makeoli and were happily filled with 1 appetizer and 3 entrees. We ordered an extra bowl of white rice which is the move as so many dishes had excellent sauces that you just wanted to soak up with rice, plus the white rice itself is perfect with a sweetness to it.

We had Hoe Muchim + Kim, Beef Hotpot, Mushroom Sotbap, and Galbijjim. It was outstanding from the cold cucumber soup at the beginning to the end. Beef hotpot is great for those who appreciate that pure beef taste and experience- it is lightly seasoned and in my opinion a great contrast to the big flavors of Galbijjim. Galbijjim is a crowd pleaser and easy to enjoy, it is a most indulgent version with meat removed from the bones. We only wished the dish were layered with more vegetables / mushrooms, which were not side characters in this dish. Sotbap was fragrant - only wished that they scooped out the crispy bits, which are the best parts. Maybe they can offer guests the option to serve themselves rather than take away and return with the scooped out bowls for each person.

Also would love to see more makgeolli options on the drinks menu.

Can’t wait to return!

stunning place, possibly my favorite restaurant in NYC. I’ve brought all my gfs and family here and can’t wait to return! Food will blow your mind and for that, the bill is so reasonable.

GORGEOUS and spacious interior! This place feels like a calming oasis amidst the chaos of KTown.

The food here is delicate and so thoughtfully prepared. You MUST get the galbi jjim (a sweet slow roasted beef dish with root vegetables and chewy rice cakes!!). The Mushroom Sotbap (a hot stone rice dish) is also amazing! So rich, savory, and fragrant with a bunch of mushrooms.

Dessert here is unique too! We got the Buckwheat Ice Cream, a savory and nutty flavor that was served w toasted sesame seeds (crunchy!) and a salty caramel drizzle. A can’t miss spot!

The complimentary appetizer at Moono is their house-made kimchi — not too salty, with a nice balance of sweet and sour, and surprisingly delicious. Moono is also famous for its Sotbap (pot rice), so we ordered the Uni Sotbap (sea urchin rice) along with a serving of Bossam (boiled pork wraps). The uni rice looked amazing at first, but after we took photos, the staff mixed it up for us, which unfortunately made the sea urchin flavor disappear . The Bossam, however, was great — fresh, tender pork wrapped with perilla leaves, really tasty!

Another highlight at Moono is their drink selection, especially the authentic Korean spirits. The most interesting one for me was the Jeju, Cheon Hye Hyang Ju, made by ANJUU using Cheon Hye Hyang citrus from Jeju Island. It’s a special collaboration with Moono, so you can only try it here. Definitely worth ordering — refreshing and delicious!

My boyfriend and I had dinner here last night and it was absolutely phenomenal. The dining room is beautiful. We opted for the tasting menu with Sool pairings. The rice with Uni upgrade was so worth it. The cuddlefish was my favorite main, and the buckwheat ice cream was a delight. Everything was so delicious, but our server (name was pronounced like “golf”, not sure how to spell it) made the experience top notch. He service was impeccable, and he put us at ease throughout the meal, including at the end when we realized we were the last table left in the dining room. We will 100% be back.
