Spectacular. They made mods for allergies last minute. Love how the basic included caviar and uni.

Dining at Mori in New York was a truly memorable experience and easily one of the most refined omakase evenings I’ve had. From the moment you walk in, you can tell this place takes its craft seriously — the atmosphere is calm, elegant, and perfectly set up for an intimate dinner where the focus is entirely on the food.

The omakase menu was beautifully curated. Each course arrived with a balance of creativity and tradition. One of the first dishes, the kumamoto oyster dressed with a delicate sauce, was an immediate highlight — fresh, briny, and with just the right touch of citrus. The sashimi plate was equally impressive, featuring tuna belly, sea bass, and shrimp that practically melted in the mouth. Presentation here is an art form; every dish looked like it belonged in a gallery before you even picked up your chopsticks.

The nigiri selection was outstanding. I especially loved the toro and the Hokkaido scallop with yuzu kosho — flavors that were clean yet full of depth. The hand rolls were another highlight; the crab with truffle aioli and potato crisps was both playful and decadent, while the uni with Kaluga caviar felt luxurious without being overwhelming.

Service was impeccable. The chefs explained the courses with passion and precision, and the pacing of the meal was spot on — unhurried, but never dragging. Dessert, a caramel pumpkin crème with ginger crumble, was a light and elegant way to finish.

Mori is not just dinner; it’s a complete dining journey. Yes, it’s pricey, but for the quality and artistry, it’s absolutely worth it. I’ll be returning whenever I’m in New York.

The food was good and unique, but I don't think I liked it enough for the price. I liked the appetizers courses the most. The dishes were different from omakase I had elsewhere, so I'm glad I went once to try it.

10/10! Every course was better than the last. If there is an uni and/or caviar supplement on your menu, DO IT. You will not regret it. It's eyes closed as all the flavors dance on your tongue good! Service was great as well. Highly recommend.

Excellent omakase 16 course, quaint little place, short but correctly curated wine list. Will return.

I usually don’t write reviews unless it’s an extreme case (extremely bad or exceptionally good). This place is the latter: it’s phenomenal!! I heard about this spot from the Condé Nast article about the best sushi spots in NYC. This place far exceeded my expectations! The 5 appetizer courses are all exceptional: varied and diverse in their flavors, presentation, and ingredients. The 5 sushi dishes consist of perfect proportions between rice and fish, and the fish is buttery and melts in your mouth. They also add unique seasonings to give the sushi pieces a special zest. The hand rolls were equally delicious. The dessert was a perfect way to end the meal: not too sweet and consisted of lots of zesty flavors. We also took a flight of sake and all three were very clean and delicate, and didn’t overwhelm the fish. All in all: 10/10!

My friend took me out for my birthday, and it was my first time having omakase — I absolutely loved it. The experience was so unique and special. The fish was incredibly fresh with no fishy taste, and each piece was prepared with care. The space was cozy with soft music, creating a calm, intimate vibe. The staff were super friendly and attentive, and the dessert was just right — not too sweet, a perfect ending. Can’t wait to go back!

I really loved the 5 appetizers the chef started out with. The next 5 nigiris were just okay, tuna was a little on the fishier side. The next 5 handrolls were really good. It was a nice surprise since most omakases places usually only have one handroll at the end. Dessert was pretty mediocre. All in all not a bad meal but didn’t have too much wow factor.

Exceptional. Not just your regular omakase spot. The amount of food is perfect and WELL worth the money. The variety of courses is well balanced but each bite is quite sophisticated and the whole experience is very fun for the palate. Absolutely no complaints. I have taken my partner, family, friends. Already have gone 4 times since they opened. Highly recommend!

food was really good but service was lacklustre, didn’t check up on refills and it was bar seating so food was just handed directly to us. afterwards the waitress hounded me for a tip.
