This establishment is clearly run by racist or an owner who doesn't have the balls to stand up for what's right in their own community. Here's why I think this.. It was to my surprise when I got to "Mother Vegan" today because I legit had no idea they completely switched over! I figured it was for a more healthy serving to their community, which was cool! It just wasn't my cup of tea! But after chatting with the bartender (pretty much the only worker there due to the current pandemic going on, so, he might've been a server!), I found out that that was NOT the case!! When he noticed my surprise surrounding the switchover, he asked me when the last time I'd been there, to which I told him it had been a few years because I actually hadn't come around since I worked at Blockheads. This man then went on to blatantly tell ME, a black woman, "oooh yeah we had to switch it up due to pressure from the landlord. YOU KNOW the type of crowd we attracted and the tenants kept complaining about it!" I definitely know the crowd he was referring to because it was a very popular spot for people like me who were young and black and just wanted some fried foods and frozen drinks to enjoy outside. Yes, it served other races as well, but the MAJORITY was black! And their own worker felt comfortable enough to share that with me! Why? I'm not sure but I definitely was offended. He didn't even pretend to be disgusted by it, but was actually happy with the change himself. I made sure to let all of my friends who did enjoy this place know to never, ever return there again. The fact that it's the obvious reason, to where even the staff was okay with sharing it, absolutely terrifies me, especially in the state that we're currently living in right now. Please spend your money wisely ladies and gentleman. Don't shop or eat where you're not wanted.

Placed a mobile order to go. Food was prepared very quickly, and was ready when I arrived (before the estimated time ready). I ordered the fishless tacos, which was incredible. Might be the best fish taco I’ve ever had. Will definitely order from here again!

Amazing place. Every time I’m in NY with friends, I always recommend this we go here. The food, music, and overall atmosphere is just amazing and so relaxed. I highly recommend to go here for casual outings or even a laid back date.

Really excellent vegan fast food. Great for pre-theatre as in a convenient location for Broadway and unlike a lot of fast food won't leave you hungry. Lovely environment with outdoor seating, a real hidden gem.

Me and my partner visited New York for 5 days and we came here everyday without fail! Amazing incredible vegan food and the staff are so lovely. It's one of our all time favourite places and we've been vegan for 5 years. I just wish we had one over here. Thanks for the amazing service!

I would frequent this location prior to new management but now they only sell vegan food. I'm normally not a fan of fake meat but the BBQ chicken sandwich was very appetizing and the frozen margaritas are still delicious. Good spot of you need a place to sell vegan food.

Wonderful place for vegans. It’s really hard to find a great vegan spot and I’m so happy my boyfriend discovered it. Breakfast sandwiches are bomb and their vegan brownies are to die for.

Went with my best friend and we had such an amazing experience. Drew gave us wonderful recommendations and made us feel right at home. Danielle was so sweet and shared with us her passion for the arts. The food was great and the service was superb. The employees were helpful and kind! The tables were clean! Food is served in to-go containers which was nice! We had coconut curry, nacho burger, tater tots, oatmeal chocolate chip cookie, whoppie pie and a brownie over the 3 days we dropped by and those were amazing, so I am assuming everything is amazing (:
