There were at least two items our party wished to order that were not available. That was disappointing. The service was excellent. The restaurant was pretty full, with lots of events that made it noisy.
The tongue sandwich and chopped liver were delicious. The place is expensive but the food tasty.
PROS * Big prominent and favors well known kosher meat restaurant * Classy high scale upper end fancy will appointed restaurant * Very large and abundant seating which is always full * Incredibly central midtown Manhattan/Times Square/Broadway location * Fancy white table cloth settings with fancy cutlery and serving utensils and dishes also * Good tasty hot professionally prepared and presented and served food * Professional waitstaff who are polished and experienced and efficient and know exactly what they are doing CONS * It is always crowded and full * Many of the customers are groups of family or business or friends out for a good time and adventure and therefore they can be loud and exuberant * There professional waitstaff and helpers are always running back and forth * The price- it is expensive "I VISITED THIS PLACE"... ...because I knew of it as a prominent and well-know high(er)-class kosher meaty restaurant located in Times Square/Broadway area of midtown Manhattan. As seen by the cover photo here of this attraction, the outside of the venue on West 38th Street is prominently displayed- it is hard to miss it. From the moment that you open the door from the street and enter, it is obvious and you know that you have entered a classy place- the ambience and the subdued lighting and the well appointed furniture and well coiffed and well attired receptionist/hostess all convey that this is a higher level than the standard place- this one is a grade above the other routine places. I was shown to a table quickly, immediately, efficiently and politely. The table had a white tablecloth, fine cutlery and a white cloth napkin. Ice water in one of those standard metal pitchers with the spout was provided immediately and refilled throughout the meal. The menu was presented. The wait staff politely and unobtrusively worried for my welfare during the course of the meal and asked and requested if all was well. The prices were clearly high(er) than other places- higher than I was accustomed to and higher than expected. I order what I thought would be the least expensive- chicken soup and a shwarma sandwich. I was asked if i wanted a matza ball and I answered yes of course; that cost an extra USD$3- I should have expected that. The food was very good. I especially enjoyed the chicken soup with that large matza ball. The ambience of the place is not soothing, calming nor intimate. The staff are frantically running around, serving, cleaning and consulting among themselves. This is also because it is crowded and the tables are not far enough away and there are many families with children of various ages and stages of social development. For example, I felt that I was the silent partner in an entire meal with a woman and two teenage boys. WAS IT WORTH THE COST? It is clearly the most expensive of al the places where I ate, but also the most classy. WOULD "I VISIT THIS PLACE" AGAIN? No- only because of the cost ADVICE from IVTP * A very good choice for a fancy upscale high end quality kosher meaty restaurant in the Times square/Broadway midtown Manhattan area. * Be prepared that it is expensive * be prepared that it is not intimate dining, because it is crowded.
Top notch from beginning to end. Right away we were greeted and asked if we had a Reservation. We were sat right away and there staff was ready for anything we needed. There portions are huge and excellent quality from the steak to the schnitzel that we had. Service was excellent. Can't wait to come back again soon
I dine at Mr. Broadway frequently before Rangers hockey games. Last night was dinner before a concert at MSG. Experience could not have been worse. My girlfriend ordered chicken noodle soup. Apparently the restaurant recently reduced portion size and bowl was half the size of former bowl and the new smaller bowl was only about 60% full. And there was a hair in the soup. After we complained, they brought a new bowl of soup which was too salty. I had an open faced turkey sandwich. The turkey had been warmed in a microwave and was dried out and barely edible. Even though I called over the manager, there was no apology and no offer to comp us for the hairy soup. I will need to find a new kosher restaurant for my pre-hockey game dinners.

This was our second time at Mr. Broadway. Our first time the experience was good but due to a very large group (maybe 30 or so) of teenage kids eating there and sitting right next to us. Noise levels too high!!! Which made the experience less that good. Thumbs down for the second time. Food was tasty, but quite pricey for what we got. Maybe third time will be a charm?
