We stumbled upon this restaurant while visiting the Rockefeller Center, and it’s definitely a spot you should visit for lunch! From Monday to Friday, 11 AM to 3 PM, they offer a lunch combo that includes two BBQ meats, vegetables, and your choice of soup or soda. We came for dinner, so we had to order à la carte, which is less cost-effective than lunch.
The House Special Roast Pork (Char Siu) is incredibly delicious — the balance of sweet and savory flavors is perfect!
The Pork Belly w. Special Sauce is also amazing. Both ends are crispy, and the center is tender. The dipping sauce complements it very well.
The Peaking Duck is roasted in two batches daily (once in the morning and once in the afternoon). The plating is beautiful, and the duck tastes great!
The Steam Egg Custard Buns (3) are actually salted egg yolk custard buns — rich and satisfying.
The Pea Shoots w. Chicken Soup were just okay — they use mature pea shoots rather than the tender young ones, so try it based on your preference.
The service was also excellent — friendly and attentive.

Stopped by for a lunch on Thursday. I ordered through their website for pick up but the lady at the restaurant told me that it’s not working so I ordered at the counter, which it was good to know. I ordered lunch special of roast duck over the brown rice and shrimp roll. I just waited less than 10 minutes and food was ready. Nicely packed including utensils. Roast duck was tasty but not too oily and shrimp rolls were very good. I will go back again to stay next time!

Disappointed and turned away — not how a restaurant should treat customers.
We came to Mr. Sun at 9:20 PM, well within their posted hours (they close at 10:00 PM). We were hungry, ready to order, and excited to try their dumplings. Instead, we were flat-out refused service.
The staff told us, “We’re closing soon,” and wouldn’t seat us — no quick menu option, no “we’re sorry.” Just a cold “no”.
If you say you’re open until 10, then act like it. Don’t shut the door on people 40 minutes early. Really disappointing experience — won’t be coming back, and wouldn’t recommend to anyone looking for hospitality or flexibility.

This place truly feels like home. As a Taiwanese parent with two extremely picky eaters, I’m always searching for food they’ll enjoy—and here, they nearly licked the plates clean! The restaurant offers authentic Taipei-style dishes, full of rich, layered flavors. We had the xiao long bao, shumai, duck fried rice, and cold appetizers—all of them were absolutely delicious. If you love genuine Asian cuisine, this is definitely a place you don’t want to miss.
Love this place, a chill place for dinner when traveling to NYC. Love the food, service and atmosphere. It’s my refuge when I travel here.

The taste is correct, very authentic to Cantonese food. The bad thing is the small portions and the high prices. The attention was very cordial. The BBQ pork roast is just a few flakes, the mustard greens are very tasty, the corn soup is a super small dish and a high price.
