I’m giving 2 stars solely cuz of service cuz that was pretty good but my god I have no clue how this is 4.5 stars. I can make better food and I don’t even cook. The ranchero dish I ordered had stale rice and beans and no sauce whatsoever. Pls improve your food quality or take these items off the menu.

Walk past the entrance into MUD, and you’re greeted by a lush courtyard tucked deep into the East Village surprising for a street-front café, and instantly calming. Inside, soft lighting and eclectic music create a comfortable, unselfconscious atmosphere just the right background for a slow coffee or hearty brunch.

The coffee is confident and consistent maple latte, pour-over, espresso each with a gentle kick that warms without overwhelming. The brunch menu blends familiar favorites with global touches: think almond crusted French toast, huevos rancheros, or a well-layered burrito that satisfies without fuss. Everything here feels real, sourced well, and delivered with warm efficiency.

MUD doesn’t feel like a trendy staging it feels alive. A place that brings together good coffee, fresh food, and a sense of community quietly thriving in the fabric of the neighborhood.

So far I've only had their hot chocolate - which is really amazing. The staff have been super friendly and welcoming every time, creating a cool and comfortable atmosphere. No complaints! I will definitely be coming back more often.

Nice food but terrible ventilation. You’ll smell like burned food on your way out. They shouldn’t have a grill in the area that is not ventilated.

Great friendly staff with a delicious menu offering tasty breakfast and lunch items for all tastes. I had the MUD drip coffee with avocado on toast with a side of reach fruit and it was delish. My friend had the burrito and loved it. Plenty of indoor and some outdoor seats. Just walk through the busy front part where people line up for coffee orders and grab a table.

I decided to drop by this café after hearing glowing reviews—and they were absolutely justified. The cappuccino I ordered was exceptional. While enjoying my drink, I noticed the space was far more expansive than it appeared from the outside, and to my surprise, they also offer a full food menu. I’ll certainly be coming back to explore more of what they have to offer.

This spot is fantastic for breakfast or brunch. Their coffee is delicious, perhaps not quite reaching the heights of Ecuadorian coffee, but it's still excellent. We ordered a variety of dishes, including eggs, salad, multigrain bread, French toast, and an avocado sandwich. The only minor drawback was our Sunday visit, as the place was incredibly crowded, which led to slower service. However, it's understandable given how busy they were.

I stopped at this cafe because I'd heard it was one of the best around, and those claims proved to be spot-on. My cappuccino was truly excellent. As I savored my drink, I realized the place was much larger than I'd initially thought, and they serve food too! I'll definitely have to return to try more.

Party of 6 (with an additional couple of orders to go) that had a late lunch at MUD. While we enjoyed the atmosphere and the server/service, the food was mediocre at best. To encapsulate the food experience: bland. This was a one and done as far as the food, but the drink experience and overall vibe was better.

Great place! Kinda an overdue review as my original visit was last year and we sat at the bar and got to talk to the owner (about his place and his cool vintage stereo!) and he was so nice and that alone is five stars on its own! Been several times and the food, drinks, and people are always great! There’s quite a bit of seats in back so don’t be discouraged from street view! Aloha!

Brunch deal 100000/10. I love every single menu item. Sando’s are great. Oatmeal is delicious. Burrito and omelette’s are huge portions. Love this place have been going consistently for years.
