We had a special request for a brunch and the team at Mud was so accommodating and prepared for our party. Best coffee, best brunch backed up by the best service. Thank you!!
This is the first review I’ve ever written -and I’m only doing it because the experience was that bad.
I came here for breakfast with friends, and it was hands down one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had, not just in the U.S., but anywhere I’ve traveled. After asking for the check because we were ready to leave, we were completely ignored for over 30 minutes. No one followed up, no one cared. We finally had to walk up to the waitress station ourselves just to get the bill. That level of disregard is unacceptable.
Despite this, two of my friends still left over a 15% tip. I left 8%, which in hindsight was far too generous for the service we received.
As we were walking out, a waiter I hadn’t seen before stopped me outside to aggressively question why I tipped “so little.” When we calmly explained that we waited half an hour just to pay, he dismissed it and told us to never come back. I’ve never been spoken to like that by staff at any restaurant in my life.
This was an unbelievably unprofessional and disrespectful experience from start to finish. If I could, I would leave zero stars - and I absolutely would not leave a tip at all if I could go back.
Avoid this place at all costs.
i <3 Mud
exceptionally friendly staff, tasty brekkie options that are sizable, yummy and don’t break the bank.
americano was damn good.
egg tacos — 2 corn tortillas, salsa verde, thick bacon, hash browns and purple slaw .. so delish .. and a lot of food! add the pickled jalapeños — it’s worth it.
interior was a little dark for 9am but with a pretty spring morning and outdoor seating — it was a win.
first time there, and will def will be back!
A wonderful place that feels like a movie set shot in the early 1900s of Nyc
MUD has been the neighborhood coffee shop with some delicious menu. Breakfast, Brunch, lunch. A land mark place in the east village
Had to get here early to get a good seat but was worth it. Some of the best coffee I've ever had and the brunch isn't too bad either.
The environment setup is lively! Chill vibes!
I ordered Avacado sandwich and I would say it's the best avocado sandwich I've ever had! Chef kiss!!
Plus the lovely service by Zoe!
It made my day!
Definitely gonna vist again!
And I highly recommend this place!
Stopped by this location twice now honestly I’ve only tried their hot chocolate which is great and the staff is always really cool and friendly never an uncomfortable moment or vibe!!. I have absolutely no complaints!!. I’m gonna be coming here more often!!
Menu, drinks, and portions are good but unfortunately the ambiance for dinner is really uncomfortable - it was super loud (on a weeknight, too) and the open kitchen was constantly smoking oil to the point my eyes were BURNING for the full 2 hours I was there.

Food is so nasty and so overpriced.
I am writing this review because this is the 2nd time this has occurred and I am appalled. Today I ordered a tomato soup and grilled cheese togo, which cost me $20. Presumably, a $20 grilled cheese and tomato soup should be decent and filling, but this was not the case. My “grilled cheese” had no cheese in it. It was two pieces of stale sour dough with a smidge of butter slabbed in the middle. The “soup” was practically just cut up onions and carrots. Grotesque.
The first time this happened, I let it slide. I don’t enjoy writing these kinds of reviews. However, I received a $20 “lox bagel” which was entirely disassembled with zero cream cheese on it. Absurd! Who the hell would eat a dry bagel with lox. Wtf is happening in the kitchen. I want my money back 😑
My chai was too sweet.
Go here all the time for weekend brunch or to-go coffee. The best!! Love their weekend brunch deal. One of the best lattes in NYC.
There was a roach on the wall right next to our table, kind of ruined our appetite immediately. Other than the unwelcome guest and her babies, food was pretty good.
