Beware of Tips already getting added to your bill. Watch out!Not a good place to eat. Expensive. Poor quality. Not tasty. The South Indian Thali have to have enough (cooked) rice for variety of rice dishes, but it was given in a very small cup. Not at all enough. And one or the other "not so satisfactory" aspect with other meals that we ordered for a group of 5.Beware. If you are a party of 3 or more, tips are automatically added to your bill and the "cheating" thing is that the check / invoice that comes in says "Pre-Tip Amount" which is totally not correct.I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Food is very good. They don't offer any upgrade from regular nan to onion nan for $1.00 like plain OM does in their specials menu. Size has shrunk. This is without a doubt the worst online ordering experience I've encountered. I wanted to order directly from the establishment so they would get all the cash. But they still added a service fee. I tried to call from their menu. Number not active. Tried web site on their menu. No good either. Confusing to enter my address. Special dinner menu all the way on the bottom. Took 20+ minutes to oder. Not worth it next time. Fix it or I go elsewhere.

Had the chana masala. Very good, one of the better ones I’ve had. The rice wasn’t anything special however.

My Saag Paneer was completely burnt and had no flavor except for bitterness (from being burnt). Please note that I am of Indian descent and have been to many Indian restaurants / cook Indian food. I was shocked as I have never had such a bad experience with Saag Paneer at any Indian restaurant I’ve ever been to. Sure, some places make it too creamy or don’t have sufficient flavor - but that’s tolerable. Burnt food is definitely not tolerable. I took a few bites and couldn’t scarf down the rest - was inedible. I would have gone back to return had it not been a trek to do so. I am surprised at all the positive reviews.

I want to qualify that this review is only for masala dosa delivery. I should learn never to order South Indian food from North Indian restaurants (and vice versa of course). I am sure their North Indian/Punjabi food is pretty good as other reviewers have attested. It is probably a 3.5 but I couldn't force myself to round up to 4. I ordered masala dosa because I was craving it last night. I am outside the delivery zone of Adayar Ananda Bhavan and Saravana Bhavan. I haven't lived near Chennai garden in a long time. Best place for South Indian tiffin items in my mind. I picked Om Namaste due to the reviews and proximity (UES/Yorkville). The delivery was prompt. The dosa itself was bad. It is not a dish that always travels well and they did a nice job. But the potato masala while tasty was not authentic South Indian masala. It was made with chili powder. No self respecting South Indian chef will use chili powder. It is always made with green chilies, softer potatoes (not like roasted potatoes). Sambar was okay not great. Too much tamarind and too thick in consistency for serving with dosa. For serving with dosa and Idli, the trick is to use a combination of toor and moong dal, less tamarind and thinner consistency. It should be drinkable (so to say) by spoon like a soup (not as thin as rasam please). And the worst offense was not providing any chutney. It is not a cheap dosa so no need to be stingy. Give atleast one if not two chutneys. I will try their idli delivery next.

The restaurant started out by taking a a reservation,. Then allowed us to change it easily. Then, came the food. The bread was perfect.. slightly crispy. Crazy good. Then they had all the standard dishes that most USA Indian restaurants have but there were so many things that I had never seen before. They were all delicious especially the fennel? chicken, one of those new dishes I mentioned. I am not sure how the original namaste was but the new Om Namaste, was top notch. Not big place, so on the weekend, post covid, it might be hard to get a table.

I love the restaurant! Clean and great service and music. Great menu and prices. On sunny days, you can dine outdoors. Nice lunch specials and dinner boxes if you order. Ala cart is wonderful. Super friendly owners. They told me they just opened during pandemic so ur business will help. They will serve alcoholic drinks in the near future too. Beautiful atmosphere when dining indoors.

Ok food. But the guy fails to return the credit card after billing. Be careful! You might have to go again just to pick up your card.
