Great temaki spot! Video review down below but check out the full version on my IG/TikTok: @snacks.andthe.city :)
We got the nori chips with scallion dip (9/10), the spicy tuna dip (10/10), the signature set (8/10), the coconut shrimp (10/10), the XO scallop (9/10), the spicy lobster (9/10), the spicy crab dynamite (10/10), avocado toast (9/10), the toro scallion (7/10), salmon sashimi (8/10) and the mochurros (11/10).
Hand rolls were absolutely sensational, can’t wait to go back. 👌

Creative, fresh and delicious.
Stopped by for lunch with coworkers around 2pm — ended up waiting about 30 minutes since reservations were fully booked. Once seated at the sushi bar, the vibe was really nice: clean, modern, and stylish inside. The menu is simple, not too many items, but they also have drinks (including alcohol).
I went with the five-piece set (about $30–35). Portions were decent and I left feeling full. The fish was fresh, but not every roll hit the mark for me. Some flavor combos felt a little overhyped — one had a sesame/soy combo that leaned too salty, another had jalapeño that overpowered the fish, and there was a roll with lemon zest that was just… a bit odd.
Overall, not a bad spot for lunch and definitely an experience to try once. I might come back for dinner to see if it’s different, but I wouldn’t call it one of the best hand roll places in NYC. Worth checking out for the ambiance and presentation, though!

I really enjoyed eating here. I ordered a signature temakis and it’s really fresh and seasoned just right. The shrimp one I didn’t expect to like very much but it was great. And the price is pretty reasonable for 5 temakis. One thing I didn’t like is that you kind of had to get 5 temakis? Overall I would come back here dine again to try other temakis

First time coming here and I loved the experience so much! First off, you get to build your own sushi?? Second off, the fish is sooo fresh and delicious, it’s worth the price.

Terrible service from the guy who greets you. He makes you wait 45 minutes and never gives you a table or tells you one isn't available. Bad experience.

Stopped in for lunch and began with the shishito peppers. They weren’t my favorite, but the signature set that followed more than made up for it. Each element was carefully prepared, flavorful, and well-balanced.
The cucumber black sesame was my least favorite, more for presentation than taste, as it was a bit messy to eat. Everything else, however, was executed beautifully and absolutely worth recommending.

I visited this place after hearing from Korean students that it was the best meal they had in New York. The interior is clean and minimal, and the prices are relatively reasonable. The dishes are well-presented and neatly arranged, but the flavors and aromas are quite strong.
I ordered the signature set, and I still remember the sharp wasabi hit from the first bite and the overpowering ssamjang (fermented soybean paste) flavor on the sauce over cucumbers at the end. Although it’s a fusion Japanese restaurant, the taste was much bolder than I expected, which left me a bit disappointed.
As I walked out, I couldn’t help but wonder, was it really necessary to wrap such crisp, fried ingredients in seaweed? It’s a place worth trying once, but I wouldn’t say it’s a must-visit.

There are no words to express how wonderful the food is here. My daughter and I tried the caviar...sublime. The sushi is unlike any I have ever had before. The freshness is indescribable. I fear you have ruined me for all other sushi!

Love this concept at Nami Nori, I’ve been dining in both locations West Village and Montclair and have never dissipated. Here first location in West Village is giving me a good and classy vibe, all the appetizers were delicious and all the hand rolls were phenomenal. I love it!!

Service is really good - great staff
The mochi churros dessert is pretty damn good as well as the spicy tuna dip with rice crisps. All the rolls were okay - nothing to rave about. The rice cracker coated crunchy nori roll with spicy crab ended up being my fav of the 5
I’d skip the corn ribs (it was a summer special) and the tempura misto (felt like it was mostly vegetables)
