Exceptional xiao long bao. This place is a must if you are in New York in my opinion. I definitely recommend going with the classical pork option and not spending space in your stomach on everything else. The place is clean. They don’t accept reservations but the place is spacious and the queue size is usually manageable. The staff were good and efficient

I am not a fan. When I walked up and saw that this seemed like a trendy place I almost left, and then saw the Michelin recommendation so decided to stay, figured it had to be good. The scallion pancake was very thick and doughy, and extremely extremely oily, like wet, no flake at all except crisp from being fried around the edges. The soup dumplings were extremely smoky and much too big for the spoon provided. I didn’t finish the meal and wouldn’t recommend this, I’d rather go to Chinatown and walk into any random place before I’d go back here.

Right across the street from the Empire State Building is Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao, home to some of the best wontons and soup dumplings I have ever had. After about a 30-minute wait we were seated and started ordering right away. We chose the Bok Choy, Shrimp and Pork & Veg Wontons in Spicy Peanut Sauce, Braised Beef Noodle Soup, and of course the Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings. Every dish was outstanding. My favorite was the Shrimp and Pork & Veg Wontons in Spicy Peanut Sauce, which were simply unforgettable. Now I understand why this place is always so busy. It really is that good, and I will definitely be back for more!

Wow! The food here is so good. It's very authentic to what I ate while in China. You should definitely go.

The hot and sour soup was overboiled and thickened to stringy, rubbery slop. The four treasures kaofu tasted old and not fresh. I won't return and I don't know how this place has good reviews.

Delicious eveyrthing :) Just very disappointed with the taro desert, they were a bit weird and didn't feel so fresh? Too sweet maybe. Also didn't like the potstickers, the dough was a bit thick and bland, and they were too oily and not grilled at all.
Food was incredible! Would eat here anytime I'm in NY

The soup dumplings are tasty, but I would say they are average. And as this is a corporate chain, the dumplings lack spirit, and emphasize good for a quick lunch if you want to spend 30 bucks, but not as an experience. The hot tea I ordered was served in a regular, clear plastic/glass-like cup. To me, that was a sign that the restaurant wasn't authentic. Overall the experience was just okay.

We wanted to check out this 9x Michelin recommended restaurant after having waited hours for Din Tai Fung the previous day. Although the menus are similar and the prices are lower at Nan Xiang, it’s not quite an equal comparison. Din Tai Fung offers a premium experience and you can see and taste it in their dishes. Nan Xiang is super tasty but more of a casual spot when you’re craving good dumplings.

little pockets of perfection. will ruin other dumplings for you
The waitstaff takes time to explain menu items with patience. The staff's efforts impressed me alongside the meal quality. Their dishes showcase innovative culinary thinking. Your final bill won't include hidden fees. The dishes delight and the bill doesn't scare; perfect combination.
