It was okay. Cost was way more than I expected, portions were okay. Nacho Bulgogi was disappointing. I won't go back.

Love this place! Come here all the time.

Only comment is I think if you let people cook on their own the workers could spend more time doing everything else :)

Delicious thin sliced radishes wrapped table top grilled sirloin and vegetables for a delightful early supper.

I really wish I could rate this place higher.
The service and the vibe inside was excellent, but the price and quality were not great. We misread the menu and thought the a la carte grill items were like $10 apiece; that's for the tasting portions. The actual a la carte grill items are $40+ apiece, which is very high. Due to sticker shock, we went with a tasting box instead that comes pre-grilled; some of the items were great and some of them were totally unseasoned and/or room temp. We ended up adding an order of boneless Korean fried chicken, but even that was $30, so we still ended up enough that we'd have been better off going with the a la carte grill or even some of the cheaper prix-fixe options. Also, banchan was only included with some of the menu items/prix-fixe? Which is crazy to me.
Ultimately not a terrible experience, but the items we tried were extremely hit-or-miss, and compared to other KBBQ places in the area, it just does not seem like a good value even by Manhattan standards.

Had a perfectly charming and lovely lunch here the other day. The food was excellent and the staff was quite attentive. It's small but cozy. Definitely will go back.

*Replying to the restaurant's response: (1) Good to know. The sign on the door should specify that the restrooms are *for customers only.* The sign I saw just said “Sorry, no restrooms!” (2) Since you saw my note about wanting to cook the food ourselves, it makes sense to inform the customer that what they're ordering will be cooked for them, so that the customer can then change their order. The waiter could've pointed to the dishes on the menu where you can cook the food yourself given that we were clearly first-time customers. (3) The food we took home was the meat. I already stated that “The amount of meat was enough.” My comment takes issue with the amount of rice. **** I visited Nangman Korean BBQ (793 6th Ave, NYC) recently and left disappointed. First, this restaurant does not have a restroom available for paying customers, which is shocking for a dine-in establishment in Manhattan. This should be listed on google and opentable, instead of the customer finding out via the sign on the front door upon arrival. For a full-service restaurant with table seating, this seems unacceptable and possibly against NYC Health Code if they have 20+ seats. The lack of restroom also makes this location not a good spot for a date. Second, the Korean BBQ experience wasn't authentic. I specifically noted in my OpenTable reservation that I wanted a table where we could cook our own food — that's the main reason people go to Korean BBQ. But instead, the server cooked everything for us. It took away the interactive part of the meal that makes K-BBQ fun and worth the price. Third, the food is overpriced for the portion you receive. The amount of meat was enough, but if you're hungry you'll need to order an extra side of rice since it comes in a tiny bowl. The food itself was delicious and the staff was friendly, but between the missing restroom and lack of self-grilling experience, I won't be returning. Hopefully management reconsiders both their setup and service approach.

I had the Hawaiian garlic shrimp bowl, which to my surprise, was not served in a bowl but a plate that had several sides that seemed to do nothing more than fill in any empty spaces that might make the small portion size apparent. The presentation of the food was nice. I also liked the decor; it gave a camping feel. The food was edible but the shrimp was absent of flavor, and the rice was not fresh. Not to mention the restaurant has no restroom!

This place caught my attention. The food experience and service delivery were remarkable. The spot's visual elements enhance the experience. You'll enjoy good cooking at fair prices here. A completely outstanding dining event!

I went with a group of 9 so we got two of the Onggijongi sets which was probably too much food (the set meals specify how many people they serve and this one served 5-6) but all of it was delicious! Even better than the food was the service… the gentleman serving us offered to cook our meats for us and also provided guidance on what condiments and sides to pair it with. Again, we were not a small group so it was a lot of effort that he did with great skill. Would definitely come here again for a group night out!

Great food and environment! Never tried a Korean bbq so I was happy to get suggestion by the staff. We got a plate to share with pork belly, rib eye and marinated short ribs. Everything was great but we loved specially the ribs. The veggies served as a side were very nice and with a lot of flavour. We also got some dumplings and they were full of flavour, really amazing!

We have been coming here. They are a bit expensive but we liked it. When they get busy, they let us cook. Thats totally fine. Yesterday, it was busy so the guy asked us if we can cook then we said we’ll do. At the end, told the lady (i think she works in the kitchen because theyre understaffed) the brisket is chewy then she said “oh because you didn’t put any oil”. But the brisket itself was a cheap cut. Basically blaming us of how we cooked it. Then we payed split for the bill. She literally clicked the tip for us on the machine for 2 separate checks. We were stunned and she left. Didnt get the chance to process everything as she literally billed us and clicked the 20% tip. Total bill for the good for 2 people bbq was $90+. Horrible. Cant even get to ask them for what we need while dining. the crazy part is that basically shes saying we cooked the brisket wrong (we didn’t since its thinly sliced). No accountability and even clicked the tip for us and ran leaving us stunned 😂. Cant even complain about it because no ones around since theyre understaffed. Date: 9/19/25 around 7-8:30pm

Hosted a group of friends here for my birthday and it was such a wonderful time. The KBBQ group deal left us stuffed, and I even got a little bday dessert included! Thank you to the team. Deserves to be busier on a Sunday night!
