Delicious food and great service. If I had to nitpick, seating was a little tight and tables were small.

Very disappointing. Tried the sushi (spicy tune and salmon) and it was very blunt…many better sushi places in the area , bot on east and west midtown

Used to be consistently solid spot pre-covid. The quality of the sushi is way below what it used to be…. more importantly, I just found (and almost swallowed!!!) A STAPLE buried in a piece of Nigiri…. When I called to tell them about the staple, they offered me a free California roll on my next order… unreal… there will be no next orders from this place

The staff and food were excellent! This restaurant is not equipped to be handicap accessible due to many stairs inside of the facility where the restaurant is located, as well as multiple stairs in the restaurant. The staff were very accommodating, but if you have mobility issues, please be aware.

Perfect neighborhood casual Japanese lunch place. We have so many super fancy places nearby but when you just want a casual business or personal lunch and not spend hundreds of dollars, Nare is ideal.
Omakase wasn’t the best - there were some great pieces but some not so good ones
My son and I had his last meal in USA at Nare Sushi before he headed off to Ghana for a volunteer mission. We were blown away by the quality of meal, diversity of rolls, and the friendly servers. We shared three premium rolls, some ribeye steak, and edamame; we were the ones you had to roll out of there! Great drink menu for adults and children as well. However, no Guinness offered which is my standard (but no worries, very few offer it). Convenient location in midtown too. I will definitely return, and I recommend you treat yourself to a meal at Nare.
Lovely little spot. Appreciated the aesthetics and music even. Incredible service. Fresh lobster. Great social hour drinks and pricing.

Restaurantji Recommends
I go to Nare often for everyday business lunches because it has delicious sushi in a simple unpretentious setting and is not super fancy (with prices to match) like nearby Jean-Georges and Daniel Boulud. Don't get me wrong - I loved those restaurants too - but not every day.
Have come here 3-4 time over a few years. It has not dissapointed. Takeout is great too. Try the wagu. Would definitely reccomend a visit.

I would like to call this a hidden gem, but in the three times I have been here it never lived up to my expectations.

Nestled within the walls of a luxury building lies a hidden gem. The cuisine is exceptional, especially their exquisite Kaiseki. I will most definitely be returning for more.
