Personally, I really like it. First of all, it's cheap and other reviews say the quantity is small, but never. Never. It's a small size lo mein, but it was a lot for me, so I ordered it and the food came out quickly.
This is one of the best restaurants to get "take-out style" American Chinese cuisines - different from authentic ones, but it does not mean the quality is any worse. Their large portion meals are affordable price and usually prepared fast. When I stay at the hostel across the street, I always come back to this place.
Now I haven't tried everything at New Kam Lai, mostly the chicken wings w/ pork fried rice, General Tso chicken, and a few other dishes, but it's pretty good and the delivery service is good. Staff is very friendly. Overall, an ok spot for lunch or dinner.
