A solid 3 star experience. Saw this place recommended on instagram for their noodles. Also lesson learned- cannot take recs from insta because everyone has different taste. Its mediocre food at a cheap price. Peanut butter noodles were OK. Not much flavor, but what do you expect for 3.5?

my other favorite fujianese restaurant especially for their soups/broths, altho they can fall a little behind arping with their stir fries. super affordable prices
friendly front desk lady, small family run shop. less spacious than arping but that can also mean it's less crowded sometimes. more likely to have a cigarette smoke smell

A very plain and no-nonsense restaurant. Food was okay. Service was okay. The atmosphere is a little run down. A little hard to order if you don't speak Chinese. Parts of the menu don't have English at all. Worth a stop if you're into getting some quick simple foods that happened to be in English on the menu.

the kind of place anthony bourdain would film at… actual authenticity!!
I got noodles with fish for $8.50 and was given a huge plate of linguine-shaped rice noodles sautéed with veggies and fish!! very filling. feel free to byob!
no stuffiness, seems like regulars were chatting and it almost just feels like sitting in someone’s home. employees were extremely nice and treated me like a friend, everyone in the restaurant (~10 people) were chatting with each other across the tables… fun to watch :)
my first review, they deserve it
cash only, plenty of ATMs nearby!
give it a try!!!

For those in the know, he makes coastal Fujian province dishes. get a soup , a veggie and a steamed fish dish. It’s the highlight to my trips to NY. Owner/chef looks cranky but is actually a sweetheart.

Restaurantji Recommends
I’ve never eaten here, nor do I have any desire to eat here. Most likely will never eat here. But that’s the coolest name for a restaurant I ever heard.
Great divey Chinese spot. Would highly recommend for some cheap takeout. I got the #11 Sezchuan beef over rice for $7.50

I ordered a takeaway, and the attitude of the lady boss was really annoying, as if I owed her millions, I was really speechless?
This is the first time I've seen someone with such a bad attitude when answering the phone. He fell silent mid-sentence. He even yelled at someone when he called to confirm... If he doesn't want to pick up customers so much, what kind of store should he open...
