The Last Week. Was happy to have visited the city and dined for this restaurants last week. We were seated underground with small groups of other diners. We had snapper, a salad course, wine pairings, etc. There was a dinner party vibe. Very enjoyable, we're happy we went. Visited 1/2023.

I thought this was a really fun, delicious dinner. Portions are not American sized, but that’s probably for the best. Wine was great. Had a great time.

We had such an amazing experience on Monday night that we booked another reservation for Thursday! It is a unique dining experience that pairs delicious food with the chance to learn (and drink!) wine in a nightly theme. We experienced volcanic soil wines - which I knew nothing about - and domestic wines - which I tend to like more than Old World wines. The vibe is cozy and nicely hip, and the servers are all knowledgeable and friendly.

Tasting menu (as 2 bites and a total of 9oz of wine per person) was literally what was meant by “dinner” at this place, worth $100 per person. Should have read the reviews (those that suggest get ready for pizza after you’re done here) more carefully. What a rip-off!Food was OK. Wine was awful. Four people shared two plates in every course. At least we were given individual wine glasses. SMH.Two stars for location. At least the neighborhood doesn’t disappoint.

This restaurant is essentially a scam. They give you shared plates and small tastes of wine at irregular intervals, and overcharge you for everything. It’s disappointing that so many restaurants didn’t make it during COVID yet this one survived. I’ve enjoyed Tokyo Record Bar and Special Club, so I wanted to give this place a second chance, but was even more disappointed the second time. Don’t waste your time or money.

love the community/dinner party vibe here at niche niche. went for italian week and some winemakers from South Africa were also there - we had their wine for dinner and they went around the room speaking to everyone.the atmosphere was absolutely lovely and the wine was great. portion size for the food could be a little larger.the absolute highlight of the night was our server however, who went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. would strongly recommend - lots of value in coming back again too as the menu/wine pairings change so frequently.

Super cute spot with paired wine and food prefixed menu. Kinda like a show with dinner as they explained the history of each wine. Food was delicious as well. Really enjoyed the escargot and chicken. Sat outside in pretty large outdoor space. Overall Defs recommend

Total rip. You leave hungry and they serve 3 Oz wine per glass which is a few sips and have the nerve to charge extra for a decent size glass of wine. This is a $50 dinner p/person at most with tip and tax. Staff has no personality and are robotic. Cold unfriendly atmosphere only there to get you in/out. Food tasty but portions are small. Their description of restaurant is inaccurate. It is not a festive or party atmosphere.

This was one of the funniest dinners I’ve had. I really love the concept of a rotating menu and all of the reviews had such high praise the for quality of food so I will caveat that maybe we went on a bad menu night. Also our servers were lovely and the wine was good. The food was something else - we kept joking that you didn’t need teeth to eat the meal we were served because we had 2 rounds of beans in 1 sitting - a very interesting choice by the chef. We ate 8 stalks of asparagus + dressings, warm chickpea salad, 3 servings of cannelloni beans with some cod, and chocolate mousse. Not the worst meal of my life but not a $100+ meal

If you like food and you like wine and you prefer a non-pretentious (and dare I say even fun) setting, then I don’t see why you wouldn’t go to Niche Niche. In town for work and oh my I’m a stuffed hog after the 4 courses + 4 wine pairings on my solo dining adventure. Enough food to share (the 4 ppl next to me shared what looked like 2 tasting menus) although I don’t really recommend sharing the dessert which tonight was a divine airy cream on top of airy chocolate mousse. Did I mention this week’s theme is Canary Islands (wine + dishes) and isn’t it great to get off the beaten wine path especially when the wines are paired so wonderfully and sometimes surprisingly with the dishes.

Food is excellent, portion sizes were generous (helped by one dish being a pasta course) and service was very friendly. Biggest disappointment was the wine - we had made a reservation during a Sonoma themed week as that’s what was advertised on their social media, but when we showed up it had been changed to a Ruinart champagne pairing for the Frieze Art Fair. We would never have chosen to drink 4 glasses of champagne paired with dinner (I know, first world problems…) and had been really looking forward to trying the other wines. Would be hesitant to plan another visit ahead as a result; might try as a walk-in if in the neighbourhood and the menu looks good.

Wow. Absolutely amazing. The time and effort that goes into this dinner experience is so so impressive. We came here with a group of 6 and we’re blown away by how fun it was. The host was so engaging and had such a great attitude. We went on Australian week and loved all but 1 of the meals. We loved how the sommelier comes directly over to each table and explains the wine. The only thing we weren’t super amped on is the fact that you split every dish between two people. I left needing a little more food.

Came for a tasting menu at 6pm, theme was Jura in France -The ambiance was wonderful and it wasn't very busy because it was early, which meant we could talk at a normal volume and didn't have to compete with the volume of other tables to hear ourselves. The food was excellent, and reminded me of homecooked dishes I've had at a French friend's family's house. The food is served family style, though one person in our party of 3 follows a vegetarian diet and instead of serving their food as dishes intended just for them, they served it as an awkward amount and said it was still "family style" alongside the non-vegetarian dishes. This meant that sometimes the portions were either too small or too large of the veggie / meat option. Not ideal, but we're all adults and can deal with it. The wines were also lovely, but they weren't served in the correct glasses for the wine type and the glasses weren't cleaned between tastings so the flavours mixed a bit. Portions were good over all, and I'd have liked to be able to order a second glass of wine from the tasting menu but that was not possible. Finally, the theme this week was Jura in France, and while our server was telling us about the French wines, they tried to pronounce French words shown on the bottle, names and regions - but the pronunciations were so far off that it was painful to listen to. I don't really have a suggestion for how to improve that, because I don't think it's fair to ask a server to learn additional languages each week, but if the foreign words are required then additional time training how to say them correctly would be welcomed and also demonstrate cultural sensitivity.

These guys blew it out! Seriously phenomenal food. The wine pairings were spot on by their guest sommelier. The experience was wonderful. The ambiance was great. The caviar we ordered after the tasting menu was the perfect way of ending the evening. I couldn’t recommend this place enough!

Save your money. There are plenty of good tasting menu options in NYC with better service. They had some good wine selections with very stingy pours. I'm glad they gave me another glass when I asked. But overall the service was pretty bad. The servers were like helicopters rushing you to finish your food and in general had weird/unwelcoming attitudes. Very obviously trying to get people in and out quickly. Out of the 3, only 1 server was actually friendly. Also, at one point the entire restaurant filled up with heavy smoke from the kitchen because of pour ventilation, making it hard to breath for a few minutes. Lastly, the part that is the most upsetting, they added an extra $10 to the tip when I looked at my bank statement. Not something I'll call to make a fuss about, but it shows you the character of the servers.
