I had the roasted chicken, I asked for a vegetable switch with which they happily complied. The meat, evenly sliced roasted fingerling potatoes, spinach, touch of carrot & onions diced, in a minimal broth sauce was absolutely delectable as well as delicious. The freshly made, heated Portuguese rolls and butter were superb and the price of the meal very reasonable for this quality of food. 3 glasses of house wine, and two meals cost $95. Perfect, one of the best kept secrets in NYC. Its a spacious, and quite bar and restaurant.
The Tuna was not fresh and had a fishy taste to it. The Cheesecake was like a brick. Stored too cold. The food here was just not good for the price. It's basically in a lit up basement
Good Food close to the Train Station We all had nice seafood dinners, the rolls were good and the entrees were fresh and healthy. Two of us had the Chilean Sea bass which was served with shrimp wontons and vegggies in miso broth. Our other guest had the Chicken bowl. and it was full of veggies too. The bottle of wine that we purchased was delish and only $50. We'll come back to this restaurant again if we train into NYC for a show or sporting event in the future.
2/23/23 had lunch with a friend was greeted with a smile by waiter George he is a friendly and welcoming person. The ambience, decor, vibe, service, food is amazing. The Manager comes around to make sure you’re having a good time. Everything was exceptional. I will and surely recommend. Thank you to the Manager and Waiter for making our lunch time a great one.
Had not been here for over 3 years. I took a co-worker to lunch for the first time. Everything was as wonderful as it was 3 years ago. I love the ambience, decor, food, service and the warm hospitality by the Manager was amazing. Our waiter, Jorge (George) was excellent. I think they should play a little soft music it's pretty quiet and people can hear your conversation unless there is a crowd. Overall, experience is wonderful and of course I will visit again and recommend.
Lovely place to have dinner before a show at Madison Square Garden. Delicious food, good drinks, and the staff is VERY attentive. The staff knows to get you out in time for a show. You just have to cross the street and walk one block to entrance to MSG or Penn Station.
Delicious Greek salmon salad!! Reasonable and filled with feta, onions, orzo, tomatoes and the salmon was super fresh!! Good bread as well. Nice place!! I ate at the bar and the bartender was lovely!!
From the minute we walked in we could tell it was going to be a great experience. We got there about half an hour before our reservation and they seated us immediately. Every staff member we encountered was exceptional. Food was also exceptional. Highly recommend.
Food and presentation was great. Portions were generous. Host and staff were attentive but not overbearing. We were going to an event at the Garden and they were adept at getting out our food in a timely fashion without being rushed. This is not the first time we have eaten at Niles and it won't be the last. Very satisfying.
The serve was prompt & friendly and the food great! The grilled sea scallops were deliciously sweet & tender. Was super convenient to MSG. Great prices & large portions by NYC standards.
Restaurantji Recommends
Hidden gem just outside Penn Station. Perfect for pre-game at MSG or a leisurely dining experience. Don't let the connection with the hotel scare you off....not a typical hotel restaurant...head and shoulders above.
The Bartender was super friendly.. Nice spot
This place had a great vibe. I chose it randomly and it wss a great fit for dinner with myself, husband & friends. The food was really good and great portion size. We all had the same drink all night but we all enjoyed it. I will definitely come back. I don't live in NY so when I find a spot that is easy to get to from Penn Station that had great food & drinks thats a win!!
Can't belueve they charged $17 for a Chicken sandwich with virtually no chicken. And the bacon was not strips but ground up chips on over toaster roll. Bad experience aps staff is nice and location convenient in Manhattan. This Irish bar sure disappointed today. Mr. O'Reilly needs to be more hands-on
Great meal before seeing a show at MSG. Wife and 3 teenage kids are usually very picky, but everyone enjoyed their meal. We had Chilean sea bass, shrimp and scallops, burger, wings and pizza. We will definitely dine here again.
