Never a bad meal. The owners take care that your mealtime is enjoyable and the staff don't constantly interrupt you. If you need something, all you need is eye contact.

One of my go-to's when I come to Midtown Manhattan for business. Whether you are a local or a tourist sometimes you just need a quieter spot with excellent food and competent staff at the end of a long day. I have been coming here for years and Nocello hits that sweet spot every time. For me, it's a hidden gem.
What a great spot. A family-run, authentic, old-school NY Italian restaurant. The space is fun, I loved the ambiance. The staff was friendly, attentive, and we had several laughs with them. The food was fabulous. I would absolutely come here again next time I'm in NY.
We have been coming here for over 20 years when visiting the city. ALWAYS exceptional food and service. It has become a family tradition.

Always a neighborhood gem with great service. It is a nice location and not an overwhelming space so it feels intimate.
As always, food very good, staff pleasantly attentive, and noise level very reasonable. Good value too.
Absolutely the best Italian dinner we have had. 3rd time eating at Nocello and it never disappoints. Start to finish was excellent.
We got promptly seated at 615, waiter came over. We ordered by about 625. Salad came within a few minutes. The entree about 40 minutes later. First one entree, then about 5 mins later, and then another 4-5 mint for the next. At that point we were rushed to attend concert. No dessert! I was there during summer for the first time and had a good meal, about the same time of day. also for a performance in the area. Therefore, when I had Carnegie Hall tickets, this would have been a no brainer. The food was good but not sure how reliable/relaxing if we have to be somewhere on a schedule. When we arrived the restaurant was full but as we were waiting for our entrees, the restaurant slowly emptied out. We wonder if they lost our order. Is that why there was coordination of the delivery of the orders. The first entree to appear was the Farfale Alexander, then the Vitello Frascati, and eventually the Salmon Nocello (which should have been the fastest cooking time)
Traditional Italian cuisine, with superb ingredients. This is an old-school grown up restaurant, and we loved it. We'll definitely return on our next trip to NYC.

A real hidden gem in every respect -- lovely service, wonderful food and wine, charming ambience, and great intimacy!
What a delightful surprise. The neighborhood is not that attractive but don't let that put you off. This little spot is wonderful. I travel to Italy often and I was transported back there with this meal. Authentic, delicious and a delightful, intimate atmosphere. No loud music...everything was soft, subtle and comfortably friendly.
Found this gem last time we visited. Excellent food. Friendly staff. One of our favs in NYC.
What fabulous food!! Everything tasted amazing. Haven't tasted seafood that good in many years. Staff was amazing too. Love this place. Definitely going back.
When I go to a performance at City Center, I always dine at 1 Nocello. The food is delicious and the staff is terrific
