My son and I just stayed at the WSH a few nights ago I couldn’t have been more pleased with the staff, the cleanliness of the rooms and the location. It’s located in a good, clean neighborhood and there is plenty to do and plenty of places to eat! I look forward to my next stay!
One of the few places in NYC where you can get good food and hear yourself think! Our go-to spot with good friends with whom we want to converse.

I consider myself lucky to have visited this restaurant yesterday. My visit was impromptu, as I was on my way to another location. Since I was not very hungry I ordered only a dessert and a drink. The dessert was the chocolate mousse cake, which was so smothered in a coating of melted chocolate that the mousse part was almost imperceptible. The drink was the Pear & Elderflower Martini and it was good. I told two of the waiters that the chef should consider changing the name of the cake to just chocolate cake or chocolate ganache cake. One of the waiters jokingly referred to the other waiter as the chef and, going along with the joke, I said: I'm the chef! I used one of the two bathrooms and it was spotless and well-stocked. The music was good and it was played at a low volume, which is such a rarity in today's obnoxiously loud dining environments.

It was a really neat place and the staff was amazing. My friend and I had the duck. It had good flavor but was a bit on the chewy side. However, it was a perfect medium rare. I would try something different the next time I go.

To be fair - I was staying in the hotel. I worked late and it was the easiest choice. Even though I was there past closing, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was amazing. Far better than expected. I had the pumpkin seed crusted cod because it sounded crazy, but why not? I also had a kale salad. Everything was bursting with flavor and perfectly prepared. I sat at the bar. My server was attentive without being annoying or overbearing. I’ll be back.

I love this place. The food is as good as it has ever been. We had wonderful cocktails and my company ordered rack of lamb, duck breast and a burger with huge, yummy onion rings. Everything was perfectly cooked and plentiful. It's a great neighborhood hang out and the staff goes out of their way to make your evening special. 5 stars for food, vibe and service.

The lamb burger was delightful and juicy.
The pecan pancakes were also awesome. The veggies were seasoned to perfection.
Our waiter was professional and responsive.
Love the dual entrance.
You must try the cranberry hot toddy.

I booked this restaurant specifically for the jazz brunch. I had called to reserve this for the holidays with my family in NY and asked specifically for the jazz brunch, and this was confirmed over the phone (we were told to show up early, at 2PM, so we can be seated prior to start of jazz brunch). Upon arriving to the restaurant, the hostess told us she didn’t have our reservation. She had no solutions to this, but did check the dining room and saw my reservation had been incorrectly been booked when I called. The hostess had no solution other than spilt us up in the jazz brunch or stay in the dining room. We stayed in the dinning room to be together, albeit disappointed in missing the jazz brunch. I was surprised that we didn’t get anything compensated, considering our reservation was messed up. However, we made the best of it. The food and drinks were good, but the service was slow and it took a while to get the waitstaff’s attention. Overall, I was disappointed, but we tried to make the best of it. Probably would not go back to again.

Great old school restaurant. Music NOT screaming, but very much in the background. Great service and great food. I had the duck and it was perfect. Test, texture, time to bring. Slightly on the expensive side... but it IS duck. The key here is the low-key atmosphere. No blaring TVs. No blaring patrons. Not fratboy or studenty in the least. Just right for groups with uncertain numbers.

The prices compared to the outside market are really very good is really good value for money, you can tell the food is very good quality. so if you stay at the hotel and don’t want to explore too much I would recommend this little gem.

as usual lovely experience - delicious food - the wild mushroom soup super! and the Rack of Lamb terrific! Usually I get fish but this was a great choice. The server Axel was so effective, pleasant and helpful - eager to please.
This place is the best kept secret in Manhattan. Where else can you get top quality music with great food and drink at a reasonable price? We have been there before and will be there again. Dianne Ackerman.
