Sat immediately for our reservation and the experience was perfect. I got the wagyu Miso old fashion and was quite possibly one of if not the best cocktail I've ever had. my wife got the the smokey pineapple and felt the same way. The spicy tuna cups were such a culinary and flavor experience i could have eat a hundred of them. Next time im going to try the deviled egg egg. it sounds and looks like something i had at a restaurant downtown pre-lockdown that no longer exists. We each got a ramen; the kyoto and the sapporo. I don't typically prefer chicken based broths but wanted to try something new and was happy with the experience. our server Aaron (idk the spelling) was also top notch. he took the time to explain to me how they create the miso old fashion and confirmed one of my theories. he saw me drop my chopsticks (embarrassing) from across the restaurant and brought me new ones within 30 seconds while my wife and i had a laugh about it. 10/10 would go back need to try more!

Not quite sure what this restaurant is doing. They seem to want to offer patrons a lovely experience. Good food and exciting cocktails. Our group was old friends looking to have a cozy night on a Wednesday after not seeing each other since one had recently been married. We were loving catching up, enjoying the food and drinks. Then the service just dropped off. No check in, no would you like more food, no would like you like another drink. No dessert. Ok. And then we were asked to move it along. Time up. See ya bye. We are not interested in your dining experience. Basically this is a nice restaurant masquerading as a diner. Turn the table. Make more money. Give me my tip and get out. Ok. Be nice to know that going in. Don’t serve oyster and cocktails if you’re going to be dressed-up diner. So disappointing. Embarrassed that I brought my friends here. Won’t be back. And will let everyone I know not to dine there.

My pictures do not do it justice but I loved the ramen and my drink (Al pastor)!
If you’re going to have a limited menu, make sure you do everything well. Ramen was very below average, flavorless and greasy, friend chicken was rubbery. Egg sandwich was good probably the best bite. The server was strangely inattentive. Overall a completely underwhelming experience.
This place has some great appetizers but the main entrees were a bit of a flop. The egg sandwich and spicy tuna bites were amazing. The ramen however was a miss. The quality of the meat felt questionable and the broth didn’t have much flavor.

The service we received was top notch. We did not have a reservation and were prepared to wait over an hour for a seat but the hostess was amazing and worked the bar seats and table so we were seated in less than 15 minutes. The pork buns are a must! The ramen was flavorful, drinks creative and delicious. Great place to go for upscale yet comfortable food and atmosphere.

NR is easily one of the coolest ramen spots I’ve been to in NYC. The ramen is rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced — the kind you keep eating even after you’re already full. The broth has real depth, the noodles have great texture, and every topping tastes intentional.
On top of that, the cocktail menu is insane. Whoever designed these drinks knows what they’re doing — creative, beautiful, and genuinely delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and dim in the best way, making it feel like a little hidden gem.
Service was quick and friendly, and the whole experience just felt effortless. If you want amazing ramen with a vibe, this is the place. Highly recommend.

This was such an amazing dinner spot. When we sat down we ordered some cocktails that were so tasty and enjoyable (and aesthetically looked amazing too!) Once our food started coming out everything tasted phenomenal; Each dish we ate was so delicious and fantastic. This dinner was absolutely incredible! I would definitely return. I want to make it a point to share that the service was outstanding. Rei was our waitress, and she went above and beyond. She was friendly, informative, and attentive and truly made our experience at NR even better.

Best cocktails in the UES. Probably my favorite spot in the UES period. I love the Umami Old Fashioned which has unexpected savory notes.
The space is dim and cozy with a speakeasy aesthetic. The service is always friendly and conversational. I almost always sit at the bar so I can talk with the bartenders.
Most people will go for the ramen, which is very good, but I'm partial to the miso glazed eggplant, the karaage chicken, and the curry which can get crazy do-not-underestimate-it spicy.

NR is a beautiful blend of a ramen restaurant and cocktail bar, and they really know how to create a great local vibe. The atmosphere is stylish yet relaxed, and it’s clear this place is loved by the neighborhood regulars.
The food is creative and well-prepared, and everything pairs nicely with their impressive selection of drinks. I think this is a place meant to be enjoyed with good cocktails and good company, rather than just for ramen alone.
If you’re looking for a pure ramen experience, there might be other options in New York — but if you want amazing service, great ambiance, and a fun night out, NR is definitely worth visiting.

We live nearby, and like many people on the Upper East Side, we enjoy hanging out at local spots. Today around 4 p.m., I walked by this place — it’s not very well known — and stopped to look at the menu, planning to come back when it opened. Unfortunately, that won’t be happening.
A very rude man, who seemed to be the manager, told us to leave because the place wasn’t open yet. The door, however, was open, and the menu was right there. I said, “It’s okay, I just wanted to take a look,” but he repeated — in an even ruder tone — that I couldn’t even look at the menu until they opened.
Well, in the Upper East Side, people appreciate good manners and classic hospitality. It’s disappointing when a place forgets that. To the owner: your business is not in good hands if this is the kind of attitude representing it.
