We chose Stella because of convenient location. Steps off Herald Sq subway, close to Penn Station and midtown offices. Worked well for friends coming from Brooklyn and those of us headed uptown. Was surprised how good it was. We had a selection of foods that were all excellent Such as eggplant parm, butternut squash soup, shrimp oreganata for appetizer. There were two bread selections that were fresh. The chef has a heavy hand with garlic especially with the flat bread and shrimp. I like garlic but be aware. The entrees were all good, pumpkin risotto, steak branzino. Salmon was OK No dessert. Our waiter was very helpful answering questions and very efficient The minuses, we had 630 reservation, the restaurant was maybe 1/2 full. We were led to a lone table that was in the middle of the aisle/passageway. I said, how about something else. The host looked flustered. "Give me a few minutes as you wash up" I returned to the host station. The host said that the manager will be coming over to speak with me. She was there momentarily. The manager showed me an empty table by the window and asked if that was OK. I said, yes, thank you. A few minutes later, one of my dining companions arrived who said, nice view. I told the companion, this is the second tabe. We went on to enjoy our meal The other minus, the bathroom is not maintained well. It was clean but the sink area s not maintained. There are the automatic soap dispensers- broken! There was squirt bottle on top. One of the faucets did not turn on...but eventually when I used the other faucet it turned on about 10 seconds later. One of the embedded hand dryers did not work. As this restroom was insside Macy's, is this the state of retail?

Pasta was fresh and delicious!! It was my second time dining there and I will definitely be back next time I'm in the city!

We had excellent service and the recommendations by the waiter was on point. The lasagna bolognese was the best meal I had in manhattan. We had the perfect view of the Empire State building as well.

The food was excellent, our server, Will, was friendly, professional and attentive, and the view (even on a very cloudy day) was spectacular. Pizzas here are excellent as are the salads. And leave room for the gelati, which are among the best in the city

The place we like to visit when we're in town. The service this time was over the expected (thanks to the waitress Ayla), the food was perfect: although we ordered mainly pizzas and deserts, the quality, the temperature and the serving were excellent, as usual. If you try to find a place to have good food with the admirable view (especially if you seat facing the windows), that's the best place to be!

My friend and I needed a fairly quiet place where we could share a meal and talk after a long absence. Staff at Stella 34 were extremely accommodating and Ali whose service was flawless and friendly allowed us to sit way longer than the duration of our meal and was welcoming about it. Even though the restaurant was not packed at the time, this was extremely generous and given the rain outside, the fact that one of us travelled from out of state, the graciousness of Ali plus the delicious Prawns , salad, pasta made it a great time.

Sadly not as good as previous visits. They sat us on a table with no window view when the restaurant was almost empty. Pizza was nice pasta so so.

Very good food and service. Bright and airy ambiance. Great value especially for midtown manhattan

The dishes here tasted like someone really cares. Staff members provided adequate attention. Every new dish made us forget how good the previous was. This spot has an excellent mood. I'm excited to try all their specialties.

Pizza was okay, somewhat raw tbh. This business does not recycle. In a realm of limited resources, this is an atrocity. Liberals should have their priorities examined.

Weird, but this place is very good. Been in nyc 50+ years, haven't had a 'wtf, this is awesome' pizza moment in awhile. VERY surprised, but they really care about the food. Nice to see. Again.

If you’re shopping in Herald Square and need a quick bite, this pizza spot inside Macy’s is a convenient option. The slice was surprisingly good garlicky buttery, not too greasy, and hit the spot. The atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired; it was a bit dirty and there was only one person working, so don’t expect fast or polished service. Still, if you’re looking for something quick and easy that’s not McDonald’s, this does the trick.
