My flight got canceled at the very last minute, and the airline's handling of the situation left much to be desired. They refused to provide any accommodation and instead gave us a brochure with supposedly discounted hotels in the city. Faced with the uncertainty of 200+ people trying to secure a place, I quickly glanced at the brochure and decided on the "Chelsea Inn" due to its 3-star rating on the website. However, as I was en route to the hotel, I read the fine print and discovered two significant concerns: 1) The hotel had shared bathrooms, and 2) There was no reception. The latter worried me since I didn't have a US phone and hadn't received any confirmation from the hotel. Thankfully, upon arrival, I found someone at the front desk. Although the room itself was clean, I couldn't help but feel disappointed considering the price I paid. Private bathrooms should have been included at that rate. Additionally, having to carry my suitcase up five flights of stairs was quite inconvenient. The hotel's lack of luggage storage was another major drawback, especially for travelers with late flights. Furthermore, they charged an extra $35 for housekeeping, which thankfully I didn't require during my one-night stay. In conclusion, this hotel might be suitable for those who plan well in advance and receive check-in instructions on time. However, it should never be advertised as an option for last-minute bookings, especially for international guests who might urgently need a room. I can't imagine the trouble I would have faced if there hadn't been anyone at the reception upon my arrival.

This is a Hotel I would never ever ever stay again not even if they pay me 1 million euro . It is a terrible hotel: 1st ) the stairs are so steep that you need to be an alpinist to climb up to your room. If you have -like me a heavy luggage- you are lost. 2nd) bathroom is super tiny and it is shared: would you share your toilet with an unknown person???? 3) the wall that separates the rooms are so thin that you hear also if they breath in the other room 4th) the room is so small, about 6 square meters, that you cannot call it “ room” : it is a dungeon. don’t ever go there: I checked in and after 20 minutes I decided to look for an Hotel in Manhattan: basically I threw away 350 USD for two nights. I think Expedia should not sell this Hotel and I believe for European travelers it is a nightmare. Never see you again Chelsea Inn: this is the only thing I feel like writing here.

This is a great place to stay - you are self sufficient with an accessible supply closet for anything extra you need for your stay. We were in 401 - be prepared for those stairs at the end of the day! Great to have a bathroom and a comfy bed. The fridge and microwave were handy. The location is great - close to subways and shops/restaurants for food! About a 10 minute walk to Chelsea Market. I recommend and would stay again.

It says 24hr front desk - that is a total lie. NO ONE WAS THERE WHEN I ARRIVED NO ONE ANSWERED THE DOOR OR THE PHONE - HORRENDOUS EXPERIENCE. To top it off TripAdvisor put me on hold for 30min no help at all what a total joke

The Chelsea Inn was convenient, clean and comfortable. We had an issue with the codes, but that was us, not them! The response time to answer our questions was quick and easily resolved. We would definitely stay here again. Also, the shared bathroom was never an issue. Make sure you check out the speakeasy bar!

This was my first stay at Chelsea Inn and I would stay here again. Good location with very easy access to the 1, 2, 3 subway lines. The hotel rooms are small but comfortable. The bed linens are crisp and white, and there are plenty of pillows. The hardwood floors are pretty and there is a lovely exposed brick wall. The bathrooms look like they were recently updated with a nice tile shower and frameless doors. Basic toiletries and a hairdryer are provided. The towels are nice and thick, but I would have loved some washcloths. The front desk is virtual which is okay (not ideal, but they are responsive) and there is no luggage storage. One big thing to note is that some rooms have a shared bathroom so be aware when making your reservation.

This hotel is so clean, cozy, and have spacious rooms with a nice design. The staffs are very accommodating. Concierge recommended we visit the 230 FIFTH Rooftop and we had a wonderful time. Overall great experience!

The chelsea Inn is located between the fifth and sixth ave. Almost at the center of most visited atractions in NYC. To be honests, the room is kinda small but it's actually really comfortable. I was told that some rooms have a shared bathroom it is imperative for you to find out that information beforehand. The inn only has virtual staff which is really the downside of it all. But at times there are housekeepers and some type of staff avalible. All of them were really nice during my stay. The wifi is not great but good. It doesn't have an elevator try to stay in the first floor rooms (as I did) and you wont have problems. What I really liked is that you have to enter by code. If you pay cash you get a discount. It appears to have some type of speakeasy near and my room at night i could hear some faint chatter at a certain point just stops.
